Spoilers ST Strange New Worlds - Starships and Technology Season Two Discussion

I'm still super busy with shows, but I wanted to note that in 2x09, the anomaly affected people's behaviour and somehow the lights (unless the lights were an artifact of what everyone was perceiving), but not the physical sets
Una was compelled to turn off gravity for effect in her song with la'an so it seems some crew are compelled to play stage hands and hit the lights as needed.

At various points we see the bridge crew hitting buttons in unison; even the background performers move in unison. On some level they COULD be pre-programming the lights for later musical numbers or on the fly, assuming the buttons are in the right place.

[And I *love* that trying to explain this is even a thing. Treknology RULES.]

The beeps and boops also seemed to be a little more rhythmic and musical, though no one went full "Lifeform Song."

The flat-looking backdrop on the Klingon ship had to be intentional, if only because they did an exceptionally good job with Engineering this week, plenty of camera movement, a lot of (presumably) VFX-assisted shots with the camera was outside the volume of space (so to speak) enclosed by the AR wall, they really fought that the design of the set calls attention to the part where the people being disconnected from the structure in the background. It'd be very odd for them to put so much effort to that and just forget that the whole purpose of the AR wall is to align the background with the position of the camera.

I'm still not going to even try to figure out what possible in-universe justification there could be for the Klingon bridge having a waist-high to ceiling photo of a corridor behind it, though. Glitching holo-communicator?

The Gorn Hunter-class pilot raider from SNW is depicted in Lower Decks style in the episode “ Rocks” of the LDS mobile game,

I've always liked this design. It looks genuinely alien while at the same time reminding me of a Starfury from Babylon 5. I'd like to think that if we squint hard enough, we'd see a couple of Gorn pilots operating the craft from a standing position.

Interesting that they'd say it's the same class of ship as the one in "Journey to Babel" one. The general arrangement with the spinning globes is there, but they really aren't that similar, they're about as different as a Constitution and an Excelsior when you look at them side-by-side. Though I see Memory Alpha drew the same conclusion, which is surprising.

If I were to label them, I’d use Orion Scout Ship analog to Romulan Warbird. A particular brand of alien ship.
So, both the TOSR and SNW ships would be Orion Scout Ships, but only the SNW ship would be a D’Var-class Orion scout ship. But that’s just me.
