ST Phase 2: MIND-SIFTER

I got the link from the Phase II website. It was on the episode page. I know I'm not imagining it because it's currently sitting in my itunes folder.

I'm not affiliated with the production in any way, but based on Nick's post, I went to the New Voyages site. It then links you to what I think is the German mirror, and the modern VFX version of Mind Sifter is available for download there.

Is Jeff Bond going to come back as McCoy? Of all the non-Kelly McCoy's I'd say he's my favorite. (Admittedly a low bar to get over.)

Anyone ready to recommend a good mkv player? It plays on my Microsoft video player, but it has to run from the beginning, and the version I downloaded keeps stopping at about 20 minutes. I don't know which of the free players are good and which might be infested with malware.

VLC Media Player

VLC Media Player is probably the best one out there. You might also want to download Malware Bytes, it is a really good, free tool for dealing with malware.

Jeff Bond is coming back for our future episodes.

Although that being said, there is still a backlog of two episodes in post-production where "Doc John" Kelley plays Dr. McCoy. John Kelley plays McCoy in "Bread and Savagery" and "The Holiest Thing."

VLC Media player does not contain malware, like some other free players. You can choose between a 32-bit or 64-bit version.

I don't know if you already know this, but the mkv version of Mind Sifter (also other NewVoyages/Phase II webisodes) contain subtitles of different languages like English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, ...

I don't know the answer, but the The Holiest Thing trailer after Mind Sifter shows John Kelly as Dr. McCoy.

Maybe in some 'newer' episode?

OK, they have my five bucks, and I have a program that plays the same file that kept getting stuck when I tried to play it on the Microsoft play. Much clearer and the sound is much better, too. Thanks for the guidance.

STNV has posted, not one, not two, but three commentary tracked versions of Mind Sifter: Director's, Post-Production, and Visual Effects for all you movie-making junkies. I was amazed at the detail that goes into "post."

Which of the three is most informative?

I think the not-terribly-helpful answer to that question would be: they are all three equally informative--but on different aspects of the production.

Why do the images in the Guardian switch from black and white to color and back? Or is the Guardian showing them film from the past instead of the actual past? :D

Stay away from Chinatown, guys. Please.
