ST Phase 2: MIND-SIFTER

Yup, it feels like they raised their game for their 2 early guest stars.....those early episodes were *so good.* The "real" actors brought out the best in the production, and raised the bar on the acting; you could feel the excitement and the presence all the way around.

I don't agree it had anything to do with the guest stars. TSAMD was a very weak script. WEAT was powerful, with good acting and passable effects. I think they've been trying to please people involved ever since, and it's weakened their offerings. They could be doing some amazing 21st century TOS with their resources.

You don't always need a great script to make something work. TSAMD while was a weak script it was propelled by a great performance by Koenig. I kinda compare it to episode from early in Trek Balance of Terror. Which was a weak story propelled by acting. I'm not sure we've seen that in some of the newer episodes. Although Mindsifter is really good. In any series not every episode is going to be great. It's tougher with a fan series because you don't know how many episodes you will produce.
