But I guess it would only hold if they were Hugh/Borgs. If connected to the collective, why would anyone care, save to limit Romulan aggression?

I like the way Jeri Ryan and Jonathan Del Arco approach playing these characters because it shows an undercurrent of even in the 25th Century, people in general are still not as accepting of differences as they like to claim. The same as today.

That part could be intriguing, especially if Picard showcases more of the day to day life of a Federation citizen rather than just Starfleet officers.

I hope they do. That's something I've long been interested in. It's one thing to say hand-wavy platitudes like "We work to better ourselves." Let's actually see it in action. Show us how it works. Because from the series has depicted in the past is humans or are still petty and narcissistic. There is still a need for a blue-collar workforce. And the guy who said that is now living in a massive Victorian manor all to grow grapes.

That's not to say he hasn't earned it - the Chateau Picard label is highly sought and there are undoubtedly some vintages that are highly valued. And there's that word 'value'. How does that work?
