Spock as a mystic in Season 2

Although we have yet to see fully how Spock will be portrayed in STD S2, from the trailers that have been released so far, we can see the traces of an outline. It appears the character of Spock will be portrayed as a mystic-the character claims to have apocalyptic visions from the red angel being and believes these visions. This is a departure from how the character came to be regarded in S1 of TOS as a logical scientist, sure we are supposedly seeing the character before he "evolved" into the Spock of S1 of TOS, though I'm not really sure the writers are intending to show us how Spock evolved into the TOS Spock, this seems like a radical re-imagining of the character. We are seeing the character 3 years after "the Cage" but something like 7 years before WNMHGB which is where the character begins to emerge as the logician we adore. Does this new interpretation of Spock trouble anyone?
He'll probably be raped like everything else was in this series.

That's pretty much it, yeah.

Vulcan emotions are much rawer and more dangerous than human ones. Back in the pre-Surak times, Vulcans were extremely violent - much worse than any era in human history (IIRC, at its worst time, there was no more than 10% of the Vulcan population which was NOT at war). So that's why Vulcans embraced the system of logic and emotional control which Surak proposed - they HAD to, in order for the species to survive.

And it's why Vulcans still have to struggle every day to suppress their emotions. If they let it out, they'd die.
Remember that episode of TNG where Sarek has the Vulcan equivalent of Alzheimer's. Picard took on his emotions and became an absolute wreck. A lot of it focusing on how he felt about Spock.

I don't think that Spock going through a phase of seeking something mystical is out of character. Spock, even in TOS was fairly open minded, even being fairly supportive of those space hippies who were looking for Eden. Spock is a person torn between his Vulcan and Human heritage. He is seeking someplace that he feels that he truly belongs, something I don't think he truly found until later in life when he realized how much the rest of his fellow crewmembers really meant to him after returning from the dead. He clearly cares for Kirk as his friend by TOS, even dropping his usual stoism when he believes Kirk is in danger. But at this point, he's been away from home for years and won't see his father for another decade more or less. He's still trying to find himself.

Spock has always been a rebel and an outlier, from the time he was a boy wandering off into the vulcan wilderness to when he bailed on the federation to help the unification movement. I think it's entirely believable that he would have had a 'mystic phase'.

So, we do know in general the reason why Vulcans suppress their emotions is because of how strongly they feel them as opposed to humans correct? Basically, a Vulcan can either have strict mental discipline or else risk falling into paranoia and bloodlust.

The thing is, Spock is only half Vulcan. Presuming he's really roughly halfway between humans and Vulcans, that means one might expect that it's less dangerous to be emotionally uncontrolled for him than an average Vulcan - albeit much more dangerous than for a Human. Hence he can walk the line - and even stumble over it from time to time - without really risking his sanity. He stays under control emotionally more due to his own internalized identity as being "fully Vulcan" than any real need to do so.
Even though Vulcans believe in eternal spirits?

I'm failing to see the conflict, when Vulcan spiritual beliefs are well established, as well as time travel.

Secondarily, we have a brief clip in a trailer with little context. Speculation here needs more information.
Tuvock's family worships at a temple and prays.
