Spider-Man: Homecoming' anticipation thread

2002 Spider-man barely showed him in high school. He was either in the cafeteria or on a class trip. Never in class.

2011- This is the best they could do with setting Peter in high school but Andrew Garfield looked too old to be convincing. At least he attended a class.

Homecoming will probably ramp up the high school setting to "11"
And even then, he was out of school by the beginning of the second movie. They might as well have started with him in college already, for all the focus his time in high school got.

Well MARVEL decided to keep their footage a secret unlike most studios yesterday

What's wrong with the Tinkerer? He's a well-established villain and one of three in the movie who likely has a minor role.

On one hand, I'm glad that they're not just re-hashing old villains, on the other hand... The Tinkerer?

Oh, neat. He's one of the obscure villains who played a role in my Spider-Man novel Drowned in Thunder.

In fact, it seems like this movie is trying to go back to the beginning with Spidey, and not just with the high school setting. The Vulture and the Tinkerer were the second and third villains that Spidey ever faced, both debuting in Amazing Spider-Man #2 in May 1963. I wouldn't be surprised if the rumored third villain in the movie were the Chameleon, Spidey's very first foe (other than Uncle Ben's killer, J. Jonah Jameson, and the Fantastic Four, sort of).

I was thinking the same thing in regards to the Chameleon. I've always been fascinated by the character and I would love to see him finally featured in a film.

Although maybe he's already been in a film and we just didn't know it... :shifty:

Real life reason?? RDJ is hothothot!!

Story-ine reason? Tony's sorta Spidey's mentor.

Yup, that's been a thread in the comics for a while, at least since New Avengers and Civil War. And since RDJ is the anchor of the MCU, it's no surprise that they'd embrace that.
