Speculation on character death in Breaking Bad S4 **BRIEF SPOILER**

Joe Washington

On SpoilerTV, there has been mention of a character getting killed off in the first episode of the new season of Breaking Bad. I think that character is going to be Mike, unfortunately.

This is how I see it: Gus comes into the lab to confront Walt and Jesse who are being watched by Mike and Victor. Walt is talking to Gus about his reasons for doing what he did. Gus is stone-faced and quiet the entire time. Mike thinks Gus is going to order him to kill Walt or both Walt and Jesse. But instead, Gus has Mike killed, seeing it as failure on his part for having Walt get the jump on him with his plan. I think Gus is going to kill Mike right in front of Walt and Jesse (some of his blood will get on Jesse) and then Victor is going to dispose of Mike's body, probably with some acid, RIGHT in the front of Walt and Jesse as a dark message to the two of them:eek:.

I don't even remember who Mike and Victor are. Those were Gus' lackies? I'm excited for the new season!

Mike? Heck no, he's too awesome a character. I see him taking on a role as Walter's advisor in the coming seasons.

My guess would be Mr. Pollos. He's got to die soon, or Walter will be in a lot of trouble.

The trailers sure haven't made things look good for Gus (and there really isn't anywhere for him to go but out if Walt is going to climb the ladder of the meth business). As far as Mike goes, I can't see the dramatic potential of killing his character off. We know so little about him, that it wouldn't have much of an emotional impact. Mostly, it would just be a loss of a cool character who it would be interesting to learn more about.

Ok I remember who he is now. Yeah why introduce his daughter and granddaughter if he gets killed off so suddenly?

Re: Speculation on character death in Breaking Bad S4 **BRIEF SPOILER*

Last I checked, Tuco, the Cousins, and Jane were all killed suddenly on the show.

Re: Speculation on character death in Breaking Bad S4 **BRIEF SPOILER*

Jane had a season long arc that gave her a ton of development. Her death had exactly the emotional weight that Mike's death would be lacking.

Tuco and the Cousins were villains. Their deaths were inevitable.

Re: Speculation on character death in Breaking Bad S4 **BRIEF SPOILER*

Crazy Eight (or whatever the street name was) didn't have any back story that I can remember, but it was still the most important killing in Walt's devolution. (The guy in the basement in season 1, remember?) But most of them are sensational plot developments (not a bad thing) rather than serious character development, other than Jane's death.

Dale will be the most important killing in Jesse's devolution, more important than the gangbangers who murdered the kid.

Re: Speculation on character death in Breaking Bad S4 **BRIEF SPOILER*

Crazy Eight spent a whole episode in Jesse's basement being developed with long scenes of dialogue with Walt. We learned more about his character in a single hour than we did in an entire season about Mike, who is either a force of nature or a cipher (take your pick). Add to that the psychological repercussions from killing Crazy 8 -- they've lingered with Walt for the rest of the series -- and you're left with a character death that meant something.

i just looked up jonathan banks, who plays mike on IMDB and they only have him listed for the season premiere and nothing afterword so mike just MIGHT DIE in the episode

Re: Speculation on character death in Breaking Bad S4 **BRIEF SPOILER*

Well, so much for being surprised when I watch the show that someone is going to die. Thanks for the title in the thread.

There goes any drama that could potentially come from a "did he really...? No, can he still be alive?"

Thanks.
