At this point I don't care about the show but will give it a chance. SCI FI have done a pathetic job at promoting the show and knowing it will probably be cancelled after 4/5 years with no ending should anyone give a crap ???
True, and I'm part of that group. But my wish was kinda a two-part thing - different and good. Not sure Stargate's attempt to ape BSG is going to qualify as anything more than interestingly bad.Well, on one hand, it is exactly what a large group of fans--myself included--have been clamoring for: something different.

Ummmm.... also if the show goes on 4-5 years (Or one even) you know they will just make a TV/DVD movie to end out the story. Staragte is the one thing you know they will have an (bad) ending.

When does it start anyways? I think the show will probably be different for like half a season before the writers fall back into their old ways.

They might not if the ratings aren't in. SG-1 and Atlantis have proven audiences--large enough for a modestly budgeted DVD feature, anyway. Universe will have to prove itself first, and will probably stay on the air for a while if it replicates Atlantis' higher numbers.
I would put money on Carlyle quitting after season 2.
Seeing that footage just makes me want to say/scream one thing, "Tripod! Tripod!"![]()

I'll take a change of any sort over Stargate's stale photography any day. Although unmotivated hand held photography may wear out its welcome quickly if it's dramatically unmotivated, and rather motivated by other reasons (i.e. to look 'cool' or to emulate The Shield and Battlestar Galactica).

"Stale photography"? Martin Wood's photography wasn't stale at all as long as he was there and they did plenty of hand held steadcam shots on SG1, they just didn't try the Michael Bay route like BSG did.
