Seems so far the new format is either Liked or Disliked, there are no in-betweens that I see yet.

So, vote for it, the direction of the new series, Like or Dislike.

Personally, I like.

I can't vote here because the first two episodes have been quite "meh" so far. They're not bad and they aren't particularly good either. I don't feel a connection to any character yet and the basic premise seems somewhat contrived.
On the other hand, I think this show does have potential, I'll give it a few episodes to convince me one way or the other.

Dislike. No, no. Loathe with the fiery intensity of a billion supernovas, now about that? :rommie:

Granted I haven't even bothered to watch the second half but the first half has given me no motive to do so. Maybe I'll drag myself thru it later today...

David Blue, who plays Eli, brings a bit of spark to his role, but he is the only element that is remotely worthwhile. The writing is garbage (not that I expected any different), the production design is dull.

Robert Carlyle is surprisingly inert, I expected him to be much better. The rest might as well be furniture. The female characters in particular are wretched. The obvious mimicry of BSG is nausea-inducing since it continually reminds me of how bad the acting, writing and production design is by comparison, and how painful it is that this idiotic show is all we're left with by way of space opera.

Did I mention I hated it? Not SG:A type hate - where I'll still watch and bitch - but Dollhouse type hate - where I flee altogether and try to wipe the memory from my synapses.

All I can say is, Skiffy had better not cancel Caprica if they're going to show trash like this. And someone really needs to take Stargate away from the dimwits who are handling it now. It hasn't been even remotely good since about the fourth season of SG-1 and now it's reached an intolerable state. Forget all the other reboots, Stargate is the one that needs to be rebooted right back to the days of the Goa'uld (the mishandling of them and the Tok'ra is where it all went horribly wrong).

Didn't hate it as strongly as Temis. Certainly didn't like it. Rating it a 5, it has a long way to improve before it gets good, but unlike previous incarnations of the franchise, I see a faint hope that it could actually improve.

Better than Atlantis, but a lot of the characters suck, and the camera is too much at times, however no pine trees in two hours of Stargate?!?! Win!

The show is alright I guess even though it's not very original but at least they aren't claiming it is. Does anyone know if this series will have a no aliens rule like nuBSG?

There will be true alien life, but no human speaking aliens for at least the first season.

Like it. More than I've liked Stargate since SG-1's 6th season, really. I very much hope it can continue and grow into something that is truly enjoyable long term.

At least based solely upon Air, Stargate is great again. Long may it continue - we have a threat of pine trees of course for episode 3, but the description of 'almost no CO2' bodes well for their continued abscence, I hope.

I liked it even though it is cliche ridden. It's not nuBSG and I don't want it to be.

My main problem is that I'm very tired of non-linear storytelling, so the first half / episode had really disengaged me. I think that overall it has potential (they've even managed to add the Sliders element of a timer that can't be controlled), but I hope they're done with the non-linear technique.

But at least only the 1st hour was non-linear. I don't think there was a single flashback in the 2nd hour.

So I don't think you'll see it becoming a crutch like it was on nuBSG at times, where it seemed like every episode opening would be '48 hrs earlier'. :)

Hopefully so. Also, I can see where it's tempting to compare this to nuBSG (the style pretty much screams it at you), but at its core I think this is imitating Lost in Space more than anything else. We've got Dr. Smith and his boy toy; we've got the young girl; we've got the father figure; we've got the older daughter and the mother figure; we've got the hotshot lieutenant; etc. The only element that's really missing is the robot (and I wouldn't be surprised to see it pop up shortly).
