What episode would you want to end season three?

The final VFX shots of "All Our Yesterdays" work fine as a send off, at least under the original VFX.

"Turnabout Intruder" is decent ending but I do quite a bit more prefer ending with "All Our Yesterdays", pretty interesting contrast between them in focusing on all the cast/just big three and for that both OK as endings but I think "All Our Yesterdays" is a lot stronger and more effective including the drama of will this be the final fate(s), and that being more satisfyingly, convincingly resolved.

In those days, the finale was never going to matter, because NBC just burned off the last episode as an afterthought, two and a half months after the second-last one. It was the period in Star Trek history when literally nobody knew the show would be enduring.

And then in '70s syndication, the episode order would vary by city, because of the way film reels had to be shipped around the country. No place had a finale.

And now, with power of home video, we become our own station programmers and run the business ourselves. It's pretty cool.

That said, I have to agree with so many that "All Our Yesterdays" is the best ending, if the show should ever end. So far, no.

"The Savage Curtain" does, paraphrasing, start with "This is our last orbit" and end with Let's go to our next assignment, could have been worked bittersweetly with it actually being the finale but just a little too much to have Abraham Lincoln (!) and Kahless and/or Surak in finale, with being that big, especially with starting with Lincoln being huge in space, I think works better as near the end but not actual last episode.

"The Tholian Web" Kirk apparently, seemingly dying and the crew taking seriously that they'll have to move on without him (even though we know they actually won't have to) kind of works for finale but I think better for midway through last season.
