I'm hoping he'll be able to sign a non-BOOM! product or two along with what ever comics he's signing when he's at the BOOM! booth at Wondercon. :)
I'll sign anything you put in front of me except for a blank check. *nods*

I'm working my way through Orion's Hounds, but Real Life keeps getting in the way. Star Trek Titan is an awesome series.

Just finished reading PROMISES BROKEN, the upcoming 4400 novel by Dave Mack. Not sure when it's due out, but, IMHO, Dave does an impressive job bringing THE 4400 saga to a conclusion . . . sort of.

Since this thread started, I've read all of Day Of Honor, Over A Torrent Sea (review in that thread), NF 5: Martyr, and I'm starting 6: Fire On High.

Day Of The Vipers... Then Night and Dawn...

I'm enjoying it, but knowing I have A Singular Destiny, Shards and Torrent Sea waiting makes it real hard...

finished The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman, book 3 of His Dark Materials trilogy, last night.

Promises Broken is scheduled to go on sale in November 2009. And thanks for the kudos; your check's in the mail. ;)

I really loved that trilogy of books, though I was disappointed with the film adaptation of The Golden Compass (aka Northern Lights for non–U.S. readers).

I just got Over A Torrent Sea this morning, so I started that. I'm also slowly working my way through Shards and Shadows, story by story between other books.

I'm sure your book publisher will be very interested in hearing that...during your next contract negotiations... ;)

Having finished Shards and Shadows, I'm about to dive into that classic of 1990s comics, The Return of Superman.

This week's graduate school reading:
- North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell (finished last night)
- The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett (will read tomorrow)
- Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster (will read Wednesday)

If it's out over there, try the BBC Radio adaptation - sticks much closer to the original and really brings the tales to life.

I have just finished "A Singular Destiny" and will start reading "Over a Torrent Sea" this evening. I am very much looking forward to it!

Last night, I finished City of the Dead by Brian Keene. "Depressing" does not even begin to cover it. It's literally end-of-the-world fiction. Next, I want something that gives hope, that mankind has a future. Probably not going to be Singular Destiny, since it follows that dang Destiny trilogy.

Just read the Vulcan Soul Trilogy - some good stuff! Reading the Orson Scott Card Shadow series-comapnion to the Ender series - there's a guy who I'd love to tackle TrekLit!!! Trying to Read "To The Stars" by George Takei - keep gettring side tracked by the fun junk - it blows my mind he was interned in a war camp! anxiously awaiting PAD's Before Dishonor - sorry Janewayites- I do love her! I just couldn't stand the suspense the message boards were creating!

I've just finished re-reading Before Dishonour myself and not sure what to read now! I'm not due to get A Singular Destiny from my local bookshop for at least a couple of weeks so I might read some non-Trek, either The Unifying Force and finish re-reading the New Jedi Order which I've been doing on and off now for three years or Christopher Brookmyres Be My Enemy.

Orson Scott Card said:
Laws against homosexual behavior should remain on the books, not to be indiscriminately enforced against anyone who happens to be caught violating them, but to be used when necessary to send a clear message that those who flagrantly violate society's regulation of sexual behavior cannot be permitted to remain as acceptable, equal citizens within that society. The goal of the polity is not to put homosexuals in jail. The goal is to discourage people from engaging in homosexual practices in the first place, and, when they nevertheless proceed in their homosexual behavior, to encourage them to do so discreetly, so as not to shake the confidence of the community in the polity's ability to provide rules for safe, stable, dependable marriage and family relationships. (http://www.nauvoo.com/library/card-hypocrites.html)

I don't like his writing much, either, but his politics make him completely opposed to whatever shred of a message Star Trek may have.
