I'm about 50 pages into Old Man's War by John Scalzi. Digging it so far.
I read it last spring and really enjoyed it.I also want to read THE TEN CENT PLAGUE, a non-fiction book on the anti-comic book mania of the 1950's.
And of course I've got my reading to do for graduate school,
- Little Women, or Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy by Louisa May Alcott (will start tomorrow)
I am currently reading:
-Star Trek Vanguard: Reap the Whirlwind by D. Mack
-The Ice Bowl: The Cold Truth About Football's Most Unforgettable Game by Ed Gruver.
SCE No Surrender: Past Life.
next: Shards and Shadows which arrived today (after getting no mail on friday and saturday, goddamn snow)
I can't say I'm impressed so far. It's dreadfully overwritten ("I want a book. I like books," said Jo, who was a bookworm and therefore liked books.) and the children are so insipidly virtuous that every time I turn a page, I'm hoping one of them has died. Or gotten pregnant.Good book.- Little Women, or Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy by Louisa May Alcott (will start tomorrow)![]()
On the other hand, I finished Wounds, so tonight I'll be starting The War of the Worlds. I'm going to be doing a big research project on it this semester (tracking reprintings and adaptations since its original publication), so I figured I ought to reread it-- I probably haven't read it since the eighth grade!
