In addition to Orion's Hounds, which is off to a decent start, I've also started reading Wizard's First Rule on my own and Dragonsong with the gf.

^ Nice - I just finished Spock Must Die!, Price of the Phoenix (ugh), Planet of Judgement, and Vulcan! - they're not as bad as you'd think. Except Price of the Phoenix which is maybe a step above slash fanfic.

I thought the two Phoenix books were supposed to be stellar?
Really? I don't think I've ever heard a good thing about them.

Because no compliments for these books exist.

Wole Soyinka's Ake: The Years of Childhood and The Enduring Vision volume 2: A History of the American Peoples. I have tests covering both tomorrow

Finished the third Crucible novel, on Kirk. Overall a pretty good series, loved the McCoy book, was 'meh' about the Spock one and liked the Kirk finale.

That's close to my own reaction. I loved the McCoy and Spock books, and was "meh" about the Kirk one.

Just finished Vanguard: Summon the Thunder. So far the series is continuing to live up to its hype, though one plot element* threw me by surprise. Continuing to enjoy the characters, especially Captain Khatami. I have Reap the Whirlwind to look forward to, but I'm thinking on taking a break from Vanguard to read Over a Torrent Sea, returning to another series I like while heightening my anticipation for RtW, which was so hard to get a hold of.

I thought we'd see T'Prynn confront and turn the Klingon spy in the course of the novels, but Summon the Thunder describes this as already having happened. It may be for the better, but such a confrontation would've been interesting.

Just about finished The Best Laid Plans by Terry Fallis, a satirical novel about Canadian politics. Good enough that I'll pick up the sequel one of these days.

I'm reading some of Thomas DePrima's A Galaxy Unknown books. I just read the first two, and I'm now a little ways into the third one. It reminds me a lot of the Honor Harrington series.

I've now read books 1-5 and a bit into book 6. It's a fun series.

Rereading the Star Trek: Section 31 series. Just finished Cloak (much better than I remembered it being) and will be starting the TNG entry, Rogue.

I just finished the Voyager novel Dark Matters - Cloak and Daggers and was actually very entertained.

I am now reading Paths of Disharmony. I read the first chapter and I'm into it.

Star Trek: The Badlands Book 1. I don't remember where I put the second book, so I'll probably go back and finish reading The Death of Princes.
