So what are you reading, now? Part V

I'm starting David Weber's Honor Harrington series. Really getting into it with the first book "On Basilisk Station"

I have this book in my read pile; and may come to it eventually.

i'm having a hard time getting into it. the first chapter grabbed me, but once it started getting into the main narrative, everything is just so dry and wooden to me. I might go back to the Star Wars NJO series, i'd been reading that series in chunks.

Rereading Harry Potter six.

I started, but haven't finished (to reread Harry Potter instead). Star Trek Typhon Pact: Zero Sum Game, and War Horse by Michael Morpurgo.

Just started The Neverending Sacrifice. Pretty keen to read it, my girlfriend and I have been watching DS9 the last few months, and after the episode which featured the Cardassian boy, I always wondered what happened to him.

After that, it's Before Dishonor and Greater Then The Sum, Destiny, A Singular Destiny and Typhon Pact. It's gonna be a good couple weeks. :D

I'm reading some of Thomas DePrima's A Galaxy Unknown books. I just read the first two, and I'm now a little ways into the third one. It reminds me a lot of the Honor Harrington series.

Yeah, I think I've heard some similar comments.

Tks, for the heads up.;)

As for the SW:NJO: I need to go back to that myself. I finished the first book about a year ago, and I stopped halfway in the second book around the same time.

Re-reading "Caretaker", the book version of the Voyager pilot episode.

Excellent book! :bolian:

I had to shove all of my "pleasure" reading aside and dive into my physics and algebra textbooks for class (first tests in both are coming up) as well as reading minutes and staff reports for committee meetings coming up next week.

Currently working my way through book one of Greg Cox's excellent Eugenics Wars trilogy. Fine story so far.

Introducing myself to two science reads, not sure which I'll fully commit to first: Galileo's Finger: The Ten Great Ideas of Science or A History of Life on Earth.

Thanks!

If you're interested, I have an essay on Khan and Marla in the upcoming "Romance" issue of STAR TREK magazine.

I finished Myriad Universes: Places of Exile yesterday. Excellent story! The last two days I also read the Star Trek: Mirror Images comic TPB. Last night I started Typhon Pact: Paths of Disharmony.

^ Nice - I just finished Spock Must Die!, Price of the Phoenix (ugh), Planet of Judgement, and Vulcan! - they're not as bad as you'd think. Except Price of the Phoenix which is maybe a step above slash fanfic.

I thought the two Phoenix books were supposed to be stellar?

In addition to my science book (Galileo's Finger), I can't seem to resist the siren call of Vanguard #2, Summon the Thunder.

Yeah, not so much. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that it wouldn't take much for it to be a full on Kirk/Spock slashfic. Haven't read the second one yet and not looking forward to it at all.
