So.. W13 and Eureka returning in July, anyone going to watch?

I'm not saying I wouldn't be happier if there were no product placement at all. But it's increasingly unavoidable these days, and the Season of Deodorant Ads was the worst I've ever seen.

The deodorant ad season was bad, but my worst example of product placement was the chewing gum episode of Smallville a couple of seasons back. The damn gum should have been listed as a guest star it was featured so heavily.

^Oh yeah, the gum episode. I don't think I even watched that whole thing. I always found it odd that the sponsor would be willing to have their product depicted as something harmful, even if it was the result of kryptonite contamination.

Zane can go away. Joe needs more time-preferably out of uniform. She seems like a character of depth, given the chance. Anything with Fargo is fun, imo. More Fargo = more fun.

Looking forward to some scifi Lite-can't wait for July.

I agree that Zane should go away, but although I'd gladly see Jo out of, well, anything  , where her characterization is concerned I'd rather see more of her in-uniform side. In the first season, she was this cool, tough, gung-ho character, played nicely against the actress's type, but ever since she's lost that edge and been defined primarily as an object of romantic or sexual interest, which is reverting to an old-fashioned way of writing a female character. So if anything, the problem is that Jo has been too much "out of uniform" in a figurative if not literal sense.

Here I thought I was the only one who doesn't like Zane...the guy has a few good lines and some funny moments, but he annoys me to no end. I agree that Jo seems to swing back and forth between the extremes of female character cliches, either tougher-than-all-the-men, heartless, cold, and sarcastic or, like Christopher said, just an object of desire/interest. I like characters that are somewhere in between those two.
That said, I don't think her characterization has been too bad, I'm looking forward to the next season to see where her character as well as everyone else's will go.

Ah, that's what I like about having directv after years of comcast. I can set the dvr to record new episodes of any series automatically (and skip reruns and marathons). That is SOOOOOO handy.
