So, Jennifer Garner as a Klingon...

Um...REBOOT! No it didn't. NOTHING has. Trek 2.0 doesn't owe Trek 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, or 1.5 SQUAT.

Oh, you're one of those "personal canon" people. Guess what? Some people don't count anything beyond ST:TMP. They're just as wrong and irrelevant as you. :)
Not so...it's pretty obvious P'mount has a different approach for this film. SOME of what's gone before is canon to it, some not. I'm guessing MOST of TOS, MOST of the TOS-based movies, and NONE of the sequel series. Which is correct if they want to capture a NEW or casually-familiar audience.

So Trek 1.2 (TNG), 1.3 (DS9), 1.4 (VOY), and 1.5 (ENT) are NOT necessary to this movie in any way, shape, or form. It's unjustifiable.

Live with it. :)

^^^
There are several different 'looks' for the Andorians throughout TOS, the films, TNG, etc. I believe that's what he's on about, not the ENT ep with the Ainear. I can't quite remember what they were called, great ep though.

..... a bunch of unsubstantiated crap...

Nothing you've speculated is supported by fact. Actually, some of the quotes from the production staff would seem to contradict your opinion.

Live with it.

Or, by all means, show me an article where someone on the production staff has said they were going to ignore any, all, or part of Trek canon. Also, simply not mentioning the adventures of TNG et al (if that is the case, again we don't know) does not mean they don't exist.

One last thing: re-styling the Enterprise to serve modern tastes and believability does not mean reboot, it means Paramount isn't crazy with their $$$$.

"Enterprise" never happened.

Except for the part where Trip died. That happened.

Jennifer Garner as a Klingon, good.

Ben Affleck as a red shirt that buys it early in the movie, better.

My point exactly. Including the killing of the hick.

I've never really properly watched her in anything, but I do consider her somewhat attractive. I personally think she'd look best as a QuchHa Klingon, in a Mara-esque outfit (DEFINITELY WITH THE KINKY BOOTS!!! I DEMAND KINKY BOOTS!!!)

Agreed with everything.

Goddamnit she can cling on to me anyday.

You said that in the Trek Today Thread, too. Do really think it was that clever?
You don't like it? Let me tell you where you can go...

Oh do tell. I simply love a witty retort.

I'm sure Jennifer's got you on speed dial. She'll be over with some Taco Bell, Dwarf Porn and a magnifying glass.

i'd rather see her as a Vulcanian or a Romulan. or an Orion Slave Girl...

anything in a Starfleet miniskirt and go-go boots is good...except a Saurian or Tellarite...

There could be something they're not telling us here, like that the plan all along was for her to play some important role in the movie and keep it a secret until the last minute, maybe as a 25th-century descendant of Kirk, captain of the Enterprise-G, who helps the Spock carry out his scheme involving contact with his younger self. She is now the same age Shatner was at the beginning of Trek, after all.
