Smallville Summer Hiatus Thread III (Spoilers)

That isn't news.

[edit]

What I don't get is they killed off AA character in S8 among other things to line up with DC mythos...how the hell is Lois & Clark getting engaged or married before he is Superman lining up with DC timeline? Unless I am missing something. Also they said by the end of "Icarus" Clark's world will come crashing down.

Smallville’ Showrunners Tease a Proposal, a Return and Secrets

http://stayinginwithvlada.com/2010/11/18/smallville-showrunners-brian-peterson-kelly-souders-tease/

Are we going to see more Justice League members coming up soon?

Souders: Yeah, in “Icarus.” It’s just chock full of heroes.

Peterson: We get to see Hawkeye and Star Girl from the JSA. Then we have an appearance by Black Canary. She comes back in episode 12.

That's cool. Wait isn't Hawkeye a Marvel character?

You’ve still got some big stuff for the finale, I’m sure.

Peterson: Oh yeah! [Laughs] The finale, we’re all really excited about. We just feel like we have to really earn it and get there, so our focus right now is everything up until the finale.

Please...earn it?

Clark and Oliver have really opened up and let Tess into their world this season, but she’s keeping all these secrets from them. Will they come back to haunt their truce?

Souders: Oh yeah. She’s going to have to pay for everything she’s been hiding from everyone. And sooner than later.

We recently discovered she’s a Luthor. What is she going to do with that information? And is she keeping that a secret too?

Souders: Not for long. It all comes to a head in episode 10, titled “Luthor,” shockingly. [Laughs]

:sigh:

What can you tease about Chloe’s return?

Souders: It’s fun.

Peterson: It’s really cool. I think it’s just a great payoff to how long people have been waiting to see her again. It’s not only very cool and powerful, but it’s also pretty romantic.

The world and her friends and family have changed a lot in Chloe’s absence. Is she going to have a reaction to that?

Peterson: Yes, she has several different reactions to all of it. To Lois and Clark. To Watchtower. To the VRA.

Souders: To Oliver. And it’s something that will play out in all the episodes that she’s in. It won’t get solved quickly.

Interesting for Chloe.

There is more there in the link I pulled what I was interested in.

TV Guide with K&B.

TV Guide Magazine: People will be so thrilled. How is the Darkseid story going to play into the New Year?
Brian Peterson: We've purposely kept that at a slow burn because we want to ramp it up in the second half of the season, because it works with the theme of how evil works: It does creep up on you. So it will play pretty significantly in the second half of the season.

TV Guide Magazine: Can you give us one tease for what we can look forward to coming up?
Kelly Souders: Wow, that's a big one. I think Clark and Lois will be evolving, possibly into places people aren't expecting. And as far as Clark Kent goes, we are going to see some really great moments that bring us back to the Clark Kent we know from the DC universe. There are some great moments coming out of the comics and movies, ones we loved growing up.

We'll see. :sigh:

There is more...there in the link I pulled what I wanted to comment on.

Yeah I thought the Darkseid arc would be ramped up in the second season, because they're not overextended enough as it is? Where the hell can Clark and Lois evolve to that fans aren't expecting? Are they going to break up one more time before they get back together just before the wedding?

This engagement happens by "Icarus" and Clark's world comes crashing down by the end of "Icarus"...Lois says NO!

^ I can actually see that happening...they spend the second half having Clark now proof to himself that he's worthy of Lois just as they had Lois proof (or at least mumble some mumble jumbo about how she was worthy of Clark). This is Lois and Clark all over again. Sigh...and people wonder why we bitch about this show so much?

This is a show I love when I am watching it but upon further reflection wonder why I even bother. I definitely enjoyed the first 5 seasons than I have the last 5...I just hope I get the payoff I will be happy with or at least content with. :sigh:

I'm really watching this season to see how Clark eventually becomes Superman and how they're using Darkseid. Highlights so far for me have been Life Lessons With Brainy, and last week's episode.

4. An Alternate Universe ...: Lionel Luthor (John Glover) returns in an upcoming episode, which take place in an alternate universe. Though the series has toyed with alternate universes before, Souders says, "this one certainly has an impact in our real world. Without a doubt you shouldn't miss the very end of that episode because there's several great takeaways." The alternate world wasn't just created for Smallville, either. "It actually ties into the DC Universe," Peterson says.

1. Clark's Secret Identity: Though Clark has a newer super suit, he still walks around the Daily Planet sans glasses. What's up with that? The producers say they're inching toward getting Clark behind those hide-all spectacles. "We have shown all the pitfalls of coming out this year between Oliver and Supergirl and the VRA. It's really put pressure on Clark that when you [come out], you have to do it right, and you only can do it when you're ready," Peterson says.

Tess could fire everyone for that matter. Clark should have been wearing glasses from the moment he first entered the Daily Planet building.

Which brings us right back to super hypnosis or being marooned on some alternate earth...

"I used Clark Kent's DNA to create a human form your people wouldn't find horrifying" ?

So it was unfortunately brought to my attention that Justin Bieber's favorite show is "Smallville". I could care less but since we're strapped for news right now...

I hear about this little snot but his music has not made it anywhere near me.

Betty White on Hot in Cleveland was saying if she was 90 years younger she would rock his world.

Annette O'Toole was on Lie to Me last night.

Her hair was brown and grey.

Although I had to notice that her cheeks didn't look like apples.

On smallville I was thinking that she might be a drunk?

Exploded capillaires and all.

but after seeing how Lie to Me handled her make up, I think she's probably a little allurgic to the whoregrade of pancake plaster and house paint Smallville uses to make their women visible from space.

She played a crazy lady with Alzheimers.

Pa Kent has been over on Desperate House wives for the last couple episodes... He might have been wandering around when the Smallville people were dogging Teri to make a letter to L'll Lois.

I stopped by to clear my PM's...

Sam Jones III was on The Defenders tonight...I doubt any of you watched.

Kara may or may not return...if you go to K-Site Forums...it is up in the air according to Brian/Kelly.

Teen Lex from S6 "Reunion" will be back. :D

I'm watching episode 9 of the defenders right now.

I've seen Penn Julette(sp?)(sans Teller!) but no sign of Mr Jones.

I gather he'll be walking on any minute...

Or are you talking about last week?

I saw a thing on CBS this morning and Sam Jones was in there. It said tonight(Wed).
