Holy crap!!!
Potentially Smallville has at least a couple of spin offs they could play around with. The most obvious is a Green Arrow show that I would watch in a heart beat. The Hawks could be interesting or perhaps a "JSA" series. Everyone I think here knows my dream spin off would be a Legion series (I'm still working on mine just am working on the final season and need to type it up. Hoping to have it finished to post by the end of September for you guys to read). I know Wamdue and I were keen on a Supergirl spin off.

She is a billionaire industrialist superspy and the lover of super heroes and alien warlords alike... To accept Chloe's sloppy seconds (OLIVER! Quid pro quo?) because that destiny is too small for the little blonde one, but okay for Tess is a little absurd. It's ten steps backward.
Tes could probably take over the world in an acceptable way that no one would notice, but instead she's tech support for a gang of metathugs brawling their way across the USA?
Are Oliver and Chloe gonna do it while she's wearing Fate's helmet?

Ollie will go all noble once he realizes that Chloe has a destiny greater than him and will dump her...and Chloe will be the one who pushes him away to embrace her new destiny in the SDCU (Smallville DCU a term I just created or Earth S if you like). Tess ahhh Tess. I love Tess. Cassidy Freeman is not only hot but one of the stronger actors on the show when the writers actually give her material to use. I've said it many times before and will keep saying it until my fingers get carpel tunnel or my tendinitis flares up...she has got to be one of the most inconsistent characters on the show right now and that's saying a lot. No arguing that she's alpha female on the series...perhaps even more so than Lois or Chloe. The thing is I could see Tess just about becoming or doing any fraking thing because that is how the writers have dealt with her. Is she on the side of angels or isn't she? That has been the question we've dealt with since she was first introduced. Here's a Lois Lane by line...Who is Tess Mercer? Answer? No body freaking knows because she's essentially a combination of two different characters "Miss Techmacher" from the movie and "Mercy" from the comics who is one of Lex's Amazonian bodyguards. Rao...I still remember I think speculation from us if Tess was going to have some kind of powers or reveal that she's actually an Amazon (wait...that's it! I've figured out her latest secret, we just made it up over the summer time backstory, she's an Amazon). Sigh.

I agree with you one several points there. Tess is indeed the show's Alpha female, but the writing for her character has been all over the board. And as you said, it's partly because she's a mish-mash of two different characters.
Since it is the last season, I hope they give Cassidy some good material to work with and that her demise, if there is one, is spectacular.

As long as they don't make her a witch or something I am pretty good with Tess so far.
You know I would have been perfectly happy if Tess remained the bright, young and intelligent but cutthroat protege of Lex's with an agenda of her own who had a past relationship with Ollie Queen. That would have been enough. Do we even know how Tess met Lex in the first place? If so then I've forgotten.

I am sure Tess was just another employee and Lex saw her as an easy person to manipulate and control.
