In the lap of squalor I assure you.
It was brought up in a comic a few years ago that Superman has an extraordinary super ability that he hardly ever mentions (I forget where, but it was within the last 5 years.) which is "supersensitivity" inso that although as he is invulnerable when he is shot by bullets and such that the pain involved is actually hundreds if not thousands of times more painful than a human or a non enhanced kryptonian would experience from the same wound, which really puts him on par with Daredevil's hurting himself hundreds of times worse than the people he punches during the course of his escapades because of his enhanced sensory apparatus.

I agree that Lois has a healthy sex life, but Clark really can't enjoy himself (selfishly) without losing control (briefly) during the course of orgasm, however it's more than likely that she can give him handjobs without fear of losing limb or life, or being selfish.

Who said Wonder Woman is a virgin? it was clearly made out in Justice league Taskforce that they were all loving the gay sex on themiscyria and she also spent 40,000 years screwing Superman when they were trapped in a pocket dimension nearer the end of last century.

^IIRC, one of the many recent writers who was going to take Wonder Woman in a "new direction" and revitalise the character (and get more than three people to buy her solo title) said that losing her virginity might be one of the areas they would explore.

To the best of my knowledge, the current, post-whatever Crisis we just had, mainstream continuity Diana has not yet had actual sexual intercourse with a man. Other Amazons aren't so repressed, so why should she be ?

Now, if she's gay, that's fine too, but just say so.

I never understood the need to have every superhero hooking-up? I think if a character like Wonder Woman remained virginal  it would give her a quality the others don't have. JMO.

That's fine if they are open about it. I just hope it's not some metaphor for women giving away their "power" to the men they have sex with.

Ultimately, this is why I like Marvel characters more. Ms. Marvel has had no shortage of boyfriends over the years, especially recently.

I think younger people reading comics do look up to these heroes and if a character is doing something a young person will want to emulate it...the big question is what message do writers want to send?

The male equivalent, Superman, is a happily married man. He has sex with his wife. There's no negative message there.

Nobody is suggesting that Diana be seen hanging around bars picking up random guys.

All I am saying is that it would be very sad if her writers thought that she would be taken less seriously as a powerful female superhero if she had a sex life.

I am not saying she cannot get married and have a sex life. I just don't see the need for it. having her sleeping around would be useless. I think in this day and age if a character isn't sleeping around or married it is a mark against them...and the question is why? Many people go through life being celibate why can't a Superhero do that and it not be looked down upon?

^Again, I'm not asking for her to "sleep around". Bruce Wayne does enough of that.

If they want to show her avoiding such relationships for a reason that's cool too.

I just suspect that it's no coincidence that it's Wonder Woman who, out of all of DC's top superheroes, is the one who has such restrictions and that there are people who believe that her position as DC's top superheroine would be compromised if they placed a little more emphasis on the woman part of her name.

I think all these characters represent parts of humanity and Wonder Woman is no different...if they keep her "virtuous" then tie it to something spiritual and give it meaning.

This conversation reminded me of the L&C episode "Sex Lies and Videotape" where Lois and Clark have a weekend getaway, but Clark shows up in Supes gear and someone videotapes it. It gets out, and everyone thinks they're having an affair. Superman then goes from hero to zero overnight.

It does suggest and interesting paradigm though. Even in the real world, if celbs or "heroes" (athletes, politicians, whatever) get caught having an affair, everyone goes bat shit. Yet, more than likely, a good chunk the people doing the complaining are snuggled up with someone other than their SO while doing so.

I actually think it'd be something worth exploring in comics and encourage it.

As far as whiny Milfred, they should just go away. The only reason the show is still on is because someone finally got wise and canned their asses. Maybe Kreuk finally blocked their numbers and now they're just bitter?

Although, as mentioned earlier in this thread, there was that old SUPERBOY comic where he hugged a girl a little too ardently--and broke her back! Complete with sound effect!

    "CRACCK!"

(Thank Osiris she turned out to be an evil mummy!)

You've heard the fable of the Emperors new clothes? That's exactly how the fable "Bruce Wayne fucked me in a fountain" works. No model wants to be the only one left out that he didn't roger till her hair extensions fell out, so they all create raunchy coverstories to reimagine their nights previous into something a little more dirty and inline with the worlds expectations... Of course Hush has been Doppleganging for Bruce since his death so, there's a fair chance that several models have been fucked in fountainsand will step forward in the coming months with love children demanding childsupport from the Wayne estate.

Wonder Woman in the comics currently has been courting Nemesis, one would assume to the point of either marrage or the conception of a child, but she describes "the proccess" as the customs of her people. The romanitsexual politics of an island of 3000 year old immortals who have not seen a man for the most part since the fall of Troy, and Diana who was born there. They have complicated mating customs and only one gender. Not exactly the most complicated math.

I'm a few months behind on Wonder Woman, I find the current writer a little painful, so the status quo could have been completely turned on it's ass for all I know.

I thought that Giffen/DeMattias pairing her with the Martian Manhunter when they first met post crisis was a stroke of genius, but nothing ever became of it after that initial encouter.

there was a prestige 2 part miniseries a couple years back where a radiation wave killed all the men on planet earth... except Superman, who had to head out into deep space until he was "clean" because they had him donate sperm for a lot of women on the planet to assure the perpetuation of the race and they didn't want him to reinfect the kids... Lois and Carks actual kid hugged his mommy too hard and she died.

^ I've not read Wonder Woman in years...I think since Ruka. I'm looking forward to JMS's run starting in July.

Good god, now I have to play catch up.

I'm watching the pilot of Lois and Clark right now and i can't believe how ridiculous, almost art deco Tracy Scroggins looks as cat Grant the society page party girl gossip... Who knew that all you had to do to turn her into a beautiful woman was to take off the caked makeup, remove the lego like jewellery and holster her body into overalls and ask her to act like she's the boss.... Who? JMS knew.

JMS is really going to get into the Greek pantheons when he writes Wonder Woman... You're giving the bloke the license to write about the idling of Ares God of war trying to smite a troupe of murderous girlscouts who've been playing sandcastles on the beach for the last 3000 years.

In JLA Snapper car (the DC Rick Jones.) seems to be dating the wonder woman villain Cheetah, meanwhile I saw the all new Atom's "girlfriend" Giganta is a new crewwoman in ban's Secret Six. I wonder if JMS will employ these larger going ons in his writings?

^ What was the stuff about Diana dating Nemesis now? I'm drawing a blank on who he is.

I hope the Wikipedia note on this isn't true.

It says Wonder Woman courted him (in the traditional Amazonian manner), introduced him to Hippolyta, got him inducted as a member of the Amazonian race and then, here's the best part, he dumps her because she didn't really love him and just wanted to use him to start a family!

Please, somebody tell me that's an exaggeration. My opinion of her is pretty low to begin with but using a guy as little more than a sperm bank ? That's a bit on the nose even for her, isn't it ?

^ From what you describe it reminds me of the scene from JLA#0 where Bruce and Clark are talking about Diana getting married and they hope she isn't making a mistake. It was a glimpse into each of their futures and from what you describe it's possible this doesn't happen.

^Well, I've already written off one instance of her calling a guy "Sperm bank" because Frank Miller wrote it. Now, I'm not so sure.
