I finally finished this epic. And part of me can't stop bawling my eyes out. Something about this show and how you get so attached to these characters. I'm still shocked over what happened to Lisa.

Any other fans out there?

It may be the best TV show I've ever seen. Definitely in the top two or three, anyway. It's just about flawless, with quite brilliant characters who grow and change in fascinating, believable ways.

"Everyone's Waiting" - especially the last 10 or so minutes - is peerless, IMO. Brilliant and gut-wrenching.

Yes, I'm a fan.

I really need to get back to that show. I lost track of it when it first aired, somewhere around the point where she marries James Cromwell and discovers he's a nutter.

^ That pretty much says it all. It's my favorite drama and yes, that ending was a really nice finish to a great series.

Loved the finale; possibly the best final episode of any series. I bawled like a little girl, despite the fact my gf at the time was sitting right beside me.

The series as a whole was amazing--after The Sopranos, Six Feet Under was IMO the strongest series HBO has aired.

I loved the series, but I'll be the first to admit that season three is terribly weak television. Luckily it improved again in seasons four and five, and the finale is a wonderful hour+.

Season one and two remain the best (although I thought season two missed a step with it's first episode, but picked up the pace beginning with the second episode).

HBO have my top 3 series' of all time:

The Wire
Six Feet Under
The Sopranos

They get mixed about as to which one sits at the top, yet the older I get the richer SFU gets too. Seminal TV.

And I enjoy season 3 overall (though it is the weakest season) as it delves into the real minutia of the characters lives and psyches. This leaves many of the stories perhaps floating on still waters, yet it adds to the layering of the show overall.

Hugo - The future is just a fucking concept that we use to avoid living today.

That was the season that heavily featured, Lisa, wasn't it? She was definitely my least-favourite character, and as cold as this may seem, I wasn't sad to see her go...

See I was you I wanted her to be written out. Not freaking chop to to bits. And then what happened after I just wanted her to be back. It was like the writers knew we didn't like her and was like fine you don't like her. This is what we will do and then you will change your mind.

If I recall correctly the whole Lisa thing happened when Alan Ball was sick and so not directly controlling the writing so when he got back he handled her pretty quickly because he never intended her character to get to that point and didn't plan for that to go that way.

That said, I think everyone cries at the end of the last episode. Reverend, you must finish it.

I loved this series, its my second favorite series ever after BSG, the finale is amazing. I loved all the characters even with all their flaws!!
