Spoilers Shouldn't the Farragut disaster have happened already?

The real world USS Zumwalt is commanded by a Captain.
Specs from wiki are
Displacement 14,564 long tons (14,798 t)[6]
Length 600 ft (182.9 m)
Beam 80.7 ft (24.6 m)
Draft 27.6 ft (8.4 m)

Although classed as a destroyer, the Zumwalts are cruisers in all but name, and the navy's surface warfare community has had some ideas about reclassifying them that way and changing their armament / mission. Probably won't happen, though. Modern day Burke's are pretty large and well armed when compared to past destroyers, as well.

That said, the Chinese are also building them big.

Nearly every starship in Starfleet has a full Captain in command. The only exception is the Nebula class Prometheus from DS9 and sometimes the Defiant.

That's a pretty sweeping generalization- and also an opinion based off your own perceptions.

Can you name another Starfleet ship besides the Prometheus and the Defiant commanded by someone ranked lower than an O6 Captain? Indeed, given how many small ships with crews of less than a hundred commanded by O6 Captains we've seen, it seems more fact than mere perception to me.

USS ARCHER -- Commander Una Chin Riley

Both the Saladin Destroyer & Hermes Scout class starships supposedly were built using the exact same Primary Hull as the Constitutions.

But was addressed as "Captain" and is a two striper

Might be a hand me down from WNMHGB, but the stripes look to have the post pilot squiggle.

That was probably an early days costuming error, though I imagine saying so would see me accused of moving the goal posts or something.
