Victorian Era 19th century prudery is boring and one dimensional especially when projecting it into a science-fictional 23rd century.
Stereotypes are 1 dimensional as well. Cultural attitudes around nudity and sexuality are as varied across the globe as any other human activity.

I mean, they are setting up the Tyler/Burnham relationship. It could be how she outs him as a Klingon if he has the, um, wrong number of organs.

It's more about why we are more tolerate to something that is wrong in the real world such as killing and violence but then get offended at something that is good in sex. I think the question is usually more about ourselves than it is the actual acts of sex or violence in a tv show or movie. In fact I think that might be another reason why people want to put sex scenes in shows. They want the audience to look at themselves from the emotional reaction they have to seeing it.

Now what's more dramatic and interesting?
A) Freddy Krueger graphically hacking up his 8th teenager
Or...
B) The shower scene from Psycho, with a few carefully selected shots and some chocolate syrup

Stories are generally more interesting when you don't show everything. leave something to the viewers imagination.

The show didn't set up that kind of tone from the beginning so adding in graphic sex scenes would be a bit out of place at this point IMO. Game of Thrones episode one so you knew what you were in for and could make the decision early if this is what you wanted. DISC throwing this in at this point would be a change up and could alienate some of the viewers. Also, with the dubious writing/acting going on so far, I have big concerns as to how they would handle these scenes.

Mods please lock this thread. There are kids who browse this board! Yeesh
So what? That means we can't talk about sex? People have sex and Trek characters have sex and talking about how much of it is depicted on screen is a valid topic.
This isn't a network show, they can show full frontal nudity and simulated sex if they want to. I'm not saying they should but it's possible and therefore can be discussed.

For everyone who can’t wait to see some oral sex/gang bang/whatever shenanigans on Star Trek.

Didn’t they make some Trek-inspired porn movies a few years back?

Just google Star Trek: Whorager, or Star Trek: Deep Penetration 9, and there you go!

As for explicit sex in Trek, no thank you. Yeah, we all know sex is part of life, and that Gene Roddenberry was a world class pervert, but no.

It’s not like there’s a dire lack of flesh on TV these days, if anything most entertainment has gotten the porn treatment already.

I’m such a Star Trek nerd that I enjoy my Trek porn with ALL the sex scenes removed!

Things no normal fans of ST want to see:

-Oral sex of any kind of Star Trek.
-Full frontal nudity
-Any other kind of copulation

I think the woman who's "never fallen in love" as her big horrific secret, falls for Tyler / Voq as is his plan, she doesn't out him, in a grand moment of infamy he outs himself horrifying the now in love Burnham, one of the ultimate betrayals.
