Spoilers She-Hulk: Attorney at Law discussion thread

"Just 'Wong.' The Sorcerer Supreme. Master of the Mystic Arts. Leader and former librarian of Kamar-Taj."
"Yeah. You realize that you've just admitted to facilitating a prisoner escape, which is a crime."
"I must depart."

Benedict Wong has the best job in Hollywood.
And I love how before Wong devoted his life to the mystic arts, rising his way to the rank of librarian at Tamar Kaj and eventually becoming sorcerer supreme, that he spent 7 years working for Target as a "sales associate".

Having talk to my uncle who was a librarian for a time and found patrons quite annoying as sales associate would probably right in line with the same level of frustration.

I do wonder if I'm getting a bit of Marvel fatigue though. When these shows first started I was hugely engaged and excited and the first four were must see TV, actually maybe the first five because there was What If...?. Then we had Moon Knight which was ok, now She Hulk which is ok, I haven't even been bothered to watch Ms Marvel yet and on the film front I still can't be arsed to watch The Eternals.
Yeah, I've been experiencing something similar. With the TV shows, I became less enthused with Moon Knight as it went on and Ms. Marvel never really clicked with me, though so far She-Hulk is certainly reigniting my interest in in the MCU D+ shows. With the movies, I'll admit to not being particularly taken with Shang-Chi or The Eternals, but No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder have certainly satisfied me the way most MCU movies do.
Wait? Megan THEE Stallion is a real person?!? I just assumed she was a Marvel Comic character that was some sort of easter egg.
I'm guessing you don't watch the credits? She's listed as playing herself, which is what clued me in to the fact she's a real person.

Though, I likewise never heard of her before now either. It's time's like this that make this old Grandpa Simpson scene feel all the more real:

Oddly Moon Knight grew on me the longer it went on, and though I didn't see it at the cinema I quite enjoyed Shang-Chi. I really do need to watch The Eternals sometime!

IN Tamar Kaj no less...:lol: (Who knew Target had a store in Nepal?)

Yeah, gotta say, I'm enjoying everything about this series more and more. This is my second favorite MCU streaming series after Hawkeye; and originally I was going to give it a miss, but decided to watch the first episode, and yeah, like what I saw.

I really do enjoy that it never really takes itself too seriously, but its still not an outright parody. It's self deprecating at times too, and for me, that also a big plus. Its very entertaining to me.

My favorite exchanges:

Elf: "Your Honor, Asgard is not a place, its a people..."

Judge: "Yeah, Thor's inspirational speeches are not admissible in court..."

---

She-Hulk: "What? You guys rob and Asgardian construction worker?"

Thug: "..Um, yeah."

I know his work history was was meant as just a joke, but I was curious, Target does not exist outside of the United States.

They used to have subsidiary in Canada, but it only lasted 2 years.

The twerking is... NOT going over well on Twitter's right wing circles. Lots of anti She-Hulk memes going around after this episode. Has Disney released any viewership info? I'd guess it's flopping pretty hard. Go woke - go broke is a very hard law to break for these shows.

You really can't stand the thought of anything being successful can you? Seriously, it seems like every thread for a movie or TV series gets at least one post from you declaring how everybody hates it and it's going to bomb.

Please stop this.
The numbers are on par with Hawkeye, double Ms. Marvel and waaay past What-If.

The show is doing fine.

So, just to be clear, going "woke" consists of having a popular black rapper guest starring on the show and dancing a popular dance with the main character?

I mean, Jesus, it wasn't even a political commentary. It was just, this is a person who exists and is famous right now, who so happens to be black.
