I don’t mind Neelix when he’s not harassing Tuvok. I wouldn’t mind it if he showed up again.
Seven poured many years of her life into the Borg. She was RAISED by the Borg. She doesn't see them as "useless".
They're a part of her. They will literally always BE a part of her. She doesn't want to give that part of herself -- that part of her past -- up.
Up until she encountered Voyager, they were the only family she ever knew (her parents had been snatched away from her).
She held a command position inside the Collective. She commanded troops. She had the ear of the Borg Queen. The Borg lay waste to entire civilizations.
To her, that was Power exemplified.
No matter how human she gets, she will never be Annika. Her experience as a Borg will always be part of who she is, and during the period where she was transformed from a Borg back to the human she is, she was called Seven.
Besides, maybe she was introduced to Seinfeld and George’s argument won her over.
Never, except in the Novels that is.
There the Borg were eradicated and she became fully human.
You like that continuity, that's fine.
Seven herself would probably disagree. She probably resented "being human" rammed down her throat.
Why would she resent being human? We’re awesome. Easily the most superior species out of all of them.

I wear metal ankle braces (I have deformed ankles). I've worn them since 2017.

You'd be amazed how many people have told me, "If you wanted to, you could run a marathon! Just think positive and work at it!"
There's no gong back to the way things were before. I can't run a marathon any more than I can be a barista at Starbucks. No amount of affirmations and positive thinking is going to change that.
Seven may be more human than she was on Voyager, but she can't pretend that her time with the Borg never happened. There's no going back to the way things were before she was assimilated.
She's always going to BE Borg to an extent.

Even if all her Borg implants were removed she still wouldn’t be Annika. It wouldn’t erase the way they changed who she was.

At the start, yes. After the first few months she was given the choice to go back. She had several chances not the least of which was Dark Frontier and as of right around then consistently referred to assimilation as a bad thing. The only positive thing she has to say about dronehood from then on is the comforting sense of order.
I haven’t read the novels but unless her memory is erased, if Seven really fully psychologically reverted to the same person she would have been if she was never Borg it’s not very good writing, IMO.
That’s like saying veterans with PTSD can just get over it and move on.
