Seems like the Doctor has been able to reign the TARDIS in a bit since then. Now he can land and fly the thing with pinpoint accuracy when he needs to.

I have to admit I liked it better when the TARDIS was acting up a bit more, and he had to constantly struggle with it.

I was thinking the same thing--not merely that she takes him to more interesting places but to places where he is needed.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but one of the things I'm least looking forward to in Series 5 is the return of River Song. IMO she was great as a mysterious, one-off character, but it should've been left at that.
