The griping over Legacy not getting greenlit but S31 is kind of funny to me. It’s obvious why it turned out this way: S3 of Picard didn’t have that large of an audience for Paramount to feel confident in Matalas’ Legacy series. S31, however, was a project that Oscar wining actress Michelle Yeoh wanted to do, so it only made sense for Paramount to get that project moving.

That makes absolutely no sense. Michelle Yeoh is not a draw because she won an Oscar. No one has ever said "I can't wait for the next Michelle Yeoh movie". And if that was the thinking behind greenlighting this, then they're in big trouble.

The Final Frontier at least had enjoyable cinematography and the chemistry of the cast to make it worth watching.

Section 31... does not have either of those.

The Final Frontier is saved from the garbage bin entirely because of the scenes with The Trio. Take away the scenes with Kirk, Spock and McCoy, and the movie isn't worth the film it's printed on.

I'm still comparing it to various Trek films in my mind. Is it really fair to compare to previous eras? It's a different genre at this point. Only the Kelvin era films are similar. I'd say the worst Kelvin film Beyond is superior.

Sure. It's all subjective anyway, so each person can compare it to whatever they want. Is it as good as The Brady Bunch Movie? Is it as bad as Trancers 6?

I'll say this much, I enjoyed Section 31 more than I enjoyed Insurrection, Nemesis or Into Darkness. That doesn't make it a good movie, but a movie doesn't have to be good to be enjoyable.

Alright.. just watched.. and not reading 117 pages.. so..

It was better than I thought it would be, but so much less than it could have been.

I'm getting kinda tired of the "band of rogues" Mission Impossible team feel for Section 31. That Starfleet tolerates them and even certain people are in it.. I mean for F's sake, I miss the DS9 Version.. NO ONE knows about it, and its Not Team America World Police (America..F'Yeah!) Its a clandestine, super secret dark ops.. not some anti hero's dream. Owell

Now, that we have let that out.. can we please Let Die Emporeor Georgiou and S31 for good now?? With the Terran Empire for good measure? Never want to hear from that Universe for.. atleast a Decade..

That is the answer that my 7 year old niece would give, but you know that's not true. Suicide squad just named "Section 31". They don't feel at all Section 31 or black-ops Starfleet Intelligence. Sloan is spinning in his grave.
