Yes, I know. But clearly the blood also brings dead things back to life too, not just people who are mostly dead.
Given the efficiency of the tribble metabolism I doubt it could do the same with humans.

Even Khan had to create a treatment.

Unless you're saying people are tribbles?

That is the answer that my 7 year old niece would give, but you know that's not true. Suicide squad just named "Section 31". They don't feel at all Section 31 or black-ops Starfleet Intelligence. Sloan is spinning in his grave.
Being that we've never really had a film or episode that follows a Section 31 squad on an operation, I don't really know how you can say it does or doesn't feel like Section 31. Closest we got was Bashir being put to use on Romulus, and that was a very different situation under very different circumstances.

Btw, thanks for comparing me to a 7 year old.

why would tribble physiology be the same, was the tribble clinically dead, was it brain-dead, were the muscles still functional, what did bones mean by "necrotic host"...? ;)
not the point of this thread though.

Well, as we all know, all operational procedures for uniformed services remain the same for all time.

And what, pray tell, should this movie have done in order to fit your definition of "dealing with Section 31"? Have everyone sit around a conference table wearing black leather and plotting genocide?

Does necrotic canonically mean dead?
By canonically do you mean "officially in Trek"? If so, I have no idea.
In real life necrotic does not indicate death of the entire organism, just death of cells.

The reason we know the tribble is dead dead is because McCoy says so.

"The tribble's dead. I'm injecting Khan's platelets into the deceased tissue of a necrotic host."

he didn't even think straight. it's necrotic tissue of a deceased host. so he was clearly confused ;)
(death has many definitions of course, brain death still allows heartbeat and circulation, heart death still allows brief brain function, and no one knows the situation in tribbles, etc., etc.)

Random thought: I think if I were designing a second Section 31 movie — not that I expect there ever to be one — the only character I’d retain would be Alok. None of the other surviving characters feel like they have much to hang a story on — even Georgiou feels played out, much as I love Michelle Yeoh (maybe she can have a cameo as the newest Control). And I’d have them do a complete 180 on the feel of it, going actual-dark, cerebral and ambiguous — and include a quick refresher on the difference between S31 and Starfleet Intelligence. But it ain’t gonna happen anyway, so whatever.

Random question: I have a photo edit I did of Kacey Rohl and George Takei as newly-promoted Captain Rachel Garrett and Admiral Sulu in the Strange New Worlds TWOK-style uniforms, standing in Starfleet Headquarters at San Francisco. Would it be spoiler-free to post that in the Fan Art forum, since Rohl's casting as Garrett isn't technically a spoiler? I shall wait for admin approval, but if the mods say it's too spoilery then I will just share it here in this thread instead.

I think it's fine. Garrett isn't a spoiler.

Not really a spoiler given she was part of the promo material.

@Michael did a great photoshop as well :)

The Section 31, and Alok is the Rick Flag jnr.
