If you slap the name Star Trek onto something, it's an absolute guarantee that I'll watch it at least a couple of times and probably still buy the merchandise.

Discovery and Voyager are my least favourite series, but you can be sure that I've watched both series in their entirety, several times. I own both series on disc and have built models of both the Shenzhou and Voyager.

Some of the reviews reference one of the team ultimately being revealed to be a traitor. Should we start guessing who it's going to be? The Deltan woman from Star Wars Outlaws? Rachel Garrett on a Bashir-type mission to wipe out Section 31?

When I said I'd been talked out of watching The Acolyte because of bad reviews people rolled their eyes and said I listened to other people's opinions too much instead of making up my own. So there's really no right answer to this. Either I watch it and I'm an idiot for throwing my time away or I don't watch it and I'm a sheep.
Heads I win, tails you lose framing. One of the easiest cards for internet snarks to play.

I'll just go in knowing it's a bit of a mess, and if I find myself really hating it and not just being bemused, I won't finish it.

Reviews are probably far more important for people on the fence about signing up for a month of P+ just to watch it.

FWIW, GLADIATOR II just dropped on P+, so I'll have that queued up to watch while waiting for S31 to drop...

Every review I read said that they don't lock down the year and while Garrett's appearance would point to the 2320s/2330s, apparently there's another character (not named, presumably a 23rd century character though) that muddles the timeline placement further

I don't get why fans value their time so little.

This is truly blowing my mind.

For years I avoided “Sub Rosa” because I’ve heard all the negativity and thought I should just ignore it altogether. Eventually when the remaster came along and I was rewatching the show, I decided to finally give it a watch.

I’m glad I watched it, because I ended up having some of the biggest laughs I ever had watching Star Trek. From that point on I’ll never miss out on any Trek, because I might be surprised by my own watching.

I wish you luck.

Section 31 ending spoiled--Section 31 gives god a starship and he blows up their enemies for them in gratitude, ending the movie.

Ok, now we can all wait to see if the actual ending is worse than what I just wrote.

I didn't know the Tantalus device was coming back!

It just occurred to me that the other character who could be showing up is Ash Tyler. A casual viewer or someone with a shaky memory of Discovery might be confused by Tyler's presence in the 24th century, but fans who remember he's basically Voq with an accordingly long lifespan (like Arne Darvin) wouldn't blink at him being in the same timeframe as Rachel Garrett.
