Using a bad movie as an excuse to watch a lot of good movies... damn, that's what I should've done.
sorry i'll tag it, but the thread label does have a spoiler warning.Man, I didn't need that spoiler. I'm still trying to go in with the possibility of enjoying this.
That is about as damning as it gets, especially from Trekcore, which is pretty down the middle, or even pretty positive about most Trek productions.Hmm, not encouraging.

Heads I win, tails you lose framing. One of the easiest cards for internet snarks to play. When I said I'd been talked out of watching The Acolyte because of bad reviews people rolled their eyes and said I listened to other people's opinions too much instead of making up my own. So there's really no right answer to this. Either I watch it and I'm an idiot for throwing my time away or I don't watch it and I'm a sheep.
You... are absolutely right. I just assumed that the spoilers would start after the movie was released, so I knew when to duck out until I'd watched it.sorry i'll tag it, but the thread label does have a spoiler warning.
I don't get why fans value their time so little.
This is truly blowing my mind.

I wish you luck. For years I avoided “Sub Rosa” because I’ve heard all the negativity and thought I should just ignore it altogether. Eventually when the remaster came along and I was rewatching the show, I decided to finally give it a watch.
I’m glad I watched it, because I ended up having some of the biggest laughs I ever had watching Star Trek. From that point on I’ll never miss out on any Trek, because I might be surprised by my own watching.
I didn't know the Tantalus device was coming back!Section 31 ending spoiled--Section 31 gives god a starship and he blows up their enemies for them in gratitude, ending the movie.
Ok, now we can all wait to see if the actual ending is worse than what I just wrote.

It'sSome of the reviews reference one of the team ultimately being revealed to be a traitor. Should we start guessing who it's going to be? The Deltan woman from Star Wars Outlaws? Rachel Garrett on a Bashir-type mission to wipe out Section 31?
minor spoilers
Every review I read said that they don't lock down the year and while Garrett's appearance would point to the 2320s/2330s, apparently there's another character (not named, presumably a 23rd century character though) that muddles the timeline placement further
You might enjoy (or hate) Fuzz's accentI wasn't going to watch but Ireland is going into an extreme weather lockdown tomorrow so I will have a lot of time to kill.
