If one thinks that casual viewers will pay for a P+ subscription just to watch this movie because Michelle Yeoh is in it, then they have another think coming.

I wonder if the movie will still develop Section 31 the way that Kurtzman said they would way back in 2019...
Well, almost all their membership was killed and all their ships did explode in DSC Season 2.
That kinda does wipe the slate clean for a new version of the organization acting how they do portrayed in DS9.
Maybe Ash Tyler will be named dropped as reforming the organization or something.

In a way, this could connect with the novels.
In the DS9 novel Section 31 Abyss, Bashir and a Section 31 agent are chatting about the Pathfinder reports revealing potential threats to the Federation in the Delta Quadrant, the Section 31 agent even noting he's especially concerned about the Vaadwaur. So if this movie revealed Section 31 had a previous encounter with them, that could explain that concern.

have not read the thread, or kept up.

just heard it takes place in the 31 century.

didn't they go out of there way to remove that character from the 31st century? how is this going to work?

I just heard elsewhere that it was confirmed as the 31st century, which google then confirmed. I had also heard the Garrett stuff at some point in the past. I figured this thread would be the best place to get a definitive answer, but 39 pages is a bit much.

Maybe you're confusing Academy with 31.
Georgiou was sent back to a time when the universes were "still aligned", whatever that means.
Mirror Garrett should be interesting. There's no reason the Mirror C can't be the original Probert design and conquer Narendra :D

Definitive answer: It takes place in the early 24th century, as evidenced by Rachel Garrett being there.

If it was confirmed it would have been mentioned in this thread. It hasn't. So what's the source of this confirmation? If you googled it there must be something you can link to.
For the current information and speculation, you aren't required to read this entire thread, just the last few pages

Garrett was only recently announced. What are your sources?
