Really? Guess I'm not a Trek fan then? I wish this had been a series myself. I find it a more interesting premise than the coming SFA series.

S31 has morphed from a devious and clandestine unit on the fringes of Starfleet (DS9) to a wholesome bunch of good guys. :shifty:

Funny how characters retroactively become fan favs simply because they're dug up 20-30 years later. People were even "OMG Okona!" for that Prodigy thing, even though the character originated in one of the worst episodes of Trek ever.

Maybe this is one of the plot points of the movie?

Could Georgiou be traveling to an alternate dimension where S31 is heroic?
I don't think it will become wholesome. I think they'll think they are heroic and Gergiou will have a different view.

Indeed, and it's hilarious how he became a heroic figure, rather than a poorly defined character meant for laughs yet failing at it.

I wonder if the movie will still develop Section 31 the way that Kurtzman said they would way back in 2019...
If you’re a fan of Deep Space Nine, you’ve probably spent the past two years saying, “What the hell are they doing with Section 31? That’s nothing like the Section 31 we know.” That’s exactly right. In Deep Space Nine, they did not have badges or ships. They’re an underground organization. What you see on Discovery and our upcoming show with Michelle Yeoh is how Section 31 became that organization and why it was so underground by the time Deep Space Nine comes around.

He didn’t prove particularly heroic in LD.

The premise of Section 31 from DS9 always had a lot of promise.

The moral questions of the Ends justifying the Means, etc. We saw Manny Coto and Braga do this pretty well on 24:

This is probably how I'd want a Section 31 project to play out. Perhaps even S31 forced to protect the Federation from itself.

The first photo released of Yeoh wearing the villainess makeup and looking like Rita Repulsa... I think this film will be on the cornier side. Perhaps a vehicle for Yeoh to play an over-the-top campy villain.

I don't buy that this will really draw in the audience that they want.
