Spoilers Secret Invasion grade and discussion

After finishing the show, I agree it wasn’t Marvel’s best effort overall.
I probably rank it behind all other D+ shows.

i find it astonishing that they didn’t hit the reset button on G’iah and her powers.
She is basically the Avengers in one person now.
flat out the most powerful entity that isn’t a celestial.
It was kinda cute that the both of them used Groot and Drax “powers” in their little fisticuffs when they had Hulk, Captain Marvel and Vision at their disposal (at least I think I saw her phase through things at one point).

minor detail: Rhodey was the only one not capable of walking on his own.
Which means his recovery was not completed before he was abducted.
When was the last time we saw the real Rhodey?

So I guess we now know that any kind of power training/learning in a movie or TV show is actually just 'filler' because G'iah and Gravik got these powers and immediately were able to adeptly use them lol.

How the hell did they even keep track of the powers? It's not like they have an internal computer program with a drop-down menu in their brain.

Gi'ah told him he'd been held hostage for a long time. Could easily just mean his muscles entropied.

Wasn't he the only person there in a hospital gown? Unfortunately, I think the intent was that they replaced him right after his injury in Civil War, which really doesn't work very well.

You would think at any point in the on-going 'treatment' for Rhodey that bloodwork would be involved and would have uncovered his Skrull-ness.

Overall, I would give this series a "C" or a "C-". I found it disappointing, but I wasn't as disappointed with "Secret Invasion" as I was with other MCU/Disney+ productions like "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", "Loki", "Moon Knight", "Ms. Marvel" and "She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law".

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The MCU is a ghost of its former self.

As you all said mediocre finale for a mediocre show.

Some things i didn't understand:

- what was that facility with even more captured people? Who established that and who runs it?

- why were people attacking Skrulls and humans alike? US operatives after the President declared war on Skrulls?

- was that one guy they uncovered in the facility the President himself?

The people attacking were just vigilantes using the Skrull as an excuse to murder people they don't like.

They've made some of the worst decisions by any creatives for Phase 4/5 (save for Sony's Spider-Man NWH and Gunn's Guardians).

Now we have a truly broken MCU. It's a mess.

Deadpool 3 has a lot to make fun of.

Now that I've had time for it to sink in more, I have to say this is the first outright failure among the Disney+ shows. I largely enjoyed to loved everything we've gotten, although I thought Falcon and the Winter Soldier had a few weak points despite an overall strong story.

Secret Invasion
, on the other hand, was riddled with dumb mistakes, mundane plotting, and no real surprises aside from deaths for the sake of shock value (RIP Maria and Talos). The only reason why it's not outright bad is because of the stellar performances from the entire cast (yet again, especially Olivia Colman).

Even Olivia’s character didn’t add much. Might as well just use Hill there.
It was missing a big reveal or surprise. I did think at the end we might see Coulson again.

If it's anything like "Deadpool" and "Deadpool 2", forget it.

Because they thought they were skrulls but they were normal humans. Think of the Reptilian conspiracy theory. All those real life nutcases being told there really are reptilian aliens impersonating people. Go on the right forum and people think their neighbours are reptilians, along with famous/powerful people. Now they've all been told they're right. AND the President just said to kill them all

Penultimate episode was good.
Got Fury where he needed to be.
Not sure where the finale can go but a big fisticuffs, but hoping for more.

I don’t expect any last minute Avenger action, but the show could subvert that expectation.

What I do expect is G’iah taking up the mantle of her father and defying Gravik, exposing him as the monster he is and becoming the breaker of chai… the new General.
Most Skrull will switch sides.
… I mean… sort of called it?

This show has just been incoherent from beginning to end. It’s a show about avoiding war with Russia and how they’re not warmongers right after they invaded a sovereign nation and everything they’ve been up to since. It’s a show that has the gall to end on humanity engaging in genocide (which could be a horrible downer ending) but only after the refugees tried to commit genocide first. Gravik’s insane ramblings going from Point A of Fury using them as wetworks people to Point B of genocide have no connective tissue. Plus, Giah apparently has all the powers of Carol Danvers, who is already their Superman.

But most of all, what was the point?

I assume it' set up for ARMOR WARS by giving the actor more to do.

"So, Tony's dead, the world went through a mass genocide that got reversed, and there's no more Avengers."

Anyone else catch the lien about Russia lining up tanks by the Ukrainian border?
