And also the X-men being present is in the alternate timeline. These are examples that can be explained away, like the dream sequence at the start of the second Hulk movie.
Others are a bit harder to explain, like Warren Worthington's age (the older version isn't stated to be Warren), Caliban (two completely different people with the same name and powers), Jubilee (they edited her name out of X1 and 2 and never show her powers), Bolivar Trask (was actually his adopted son, Larry), Moira Mactaggert ( was Joe Mactaggert's mum who coincidentally married Moira Kinross later).
We shouldn't really have to undertake such mental gymnastics if they actually had a plan.
There's loads to nitpick in the Fox X-men films.

Given the swing he took at Wolverine Origins, I'm hopeful that he will enjoy poking holes in the X-continuity. Never mind Hugh Jackman though, I want Anya Taylor Joy.
That's at least the second time in this thread that something from Apocalypse was held up as some kind of discrepancy with the original timeline. It's not in the original timeline!
I guess it could be the same guy... if he went from a French accent to an English one, and went from speaking about himself in the third person to not doing that... and didn't noticeably age in 46 years... that's the ticket...
Constantly saying the XMCU's internal continuity is amazing is never going to make said idea a reality no matter how often it gets repeated.
(I say with much fondness for most of the franchise... but come on... we all see what we obviously see, and just because we can point out flaws in something doesn't mean we have to love it any less)
I think I did the maths and if he was in his seventies in Logan (and he avoids the sun, so maybe), it could be the same guy but the version in Logan was truer to the version in the comic, the other version was more like Caliban in name only, like most of the familar characters in that movie. It looked like a self-conscious attempt to replicate Captain America: Civil War.
I think that's the problem I have with the prequel sequels, there didn't seem to be much effort into the characterisation of anyone other than Charles and Erik. Beast, Mystique, and Moira had some characterisation, just nothing recognisable from the comics or the first trilogy. The others just had thumbnail sketch personalities onto which some special effects could be pasted. Scott and Jean just about kept their heads above water, I suppose.
Ryan Reynolds is happy to take the characters and run with them. Personally, I am not a huge fan of the Deadpool version of Colossus or the Juggernaut because they are cartoon versions and I don't want the MCU versions to be cartoonish. Less is more for me, which is where X1 worked for me. It was flawed and had some pacing issues, particularly in the finale, but it took the time to build its characters. I really liked Cable and Domino though.

I'm not sure why you think that people who poke fun at the incompetent continuity can't still enjoy the movies. Well, maybe some people can't but it's never been the most important issue for me. If there is a continuity error, Magik did it. I do still like whingeing about it though.Here's a crazy idea:

I've never claimed that XMCU continuity is 'amazing'.
I do, however, reject the claims - which have been bolstered, unfortunately, by Ryan Reynolds' attempts to reach for low-hanging comedy - that the continuity of the XMCU is a convoluted mess, and do so based directly on said continuity as presented and the circumstances under which certain elements of it were altered and retconned.
Oh, I'm on your side of that argument. That was more towards those who get all grumpy about it, one way or the other.
I love She-Hulk. That it aggravates certain comics fans is just cake.

There are a couple of sites out there with dubious track records for accuracy that are reporting that Owen Wilson will have a big part in Deadpool 3 as Mobius M Mobius.
I hate giving those sites clicks, but it is an interesting idea that would make sense in the context of the story that they're going to tell with Deadpool 3.

Yeah, that would be a good fit considering Wilson's background in comedy...and Mobius being there would feed into the multiverse of it all.
