Roranicus Pondicus Invictus!

As for the theory that Rory is the 'great man' killed by River Song...the universe tried to kill Rory once. It exploded. What makes you think River can do better? (Edit comment)

Rory waits 2000 years through the dark ages, the black plague and the London blitz. Amy waits 35 years in a comfy hospital with a zillion holodecks. Who turns into a bitter homicidal maniac? Advantage: Rory.

As awesome as Rory is, this isn't entirely fair to Amy. As I and others have already said in this thread, it's a matter of perspective. Rory knew he needed to wait 2000 years before The Doctor would return and help him save Amy, and assuming he knows his history, he knows what to expect in general. Amy, on the other hand, felt abandoned and no idea what to expect from future. Every day was a battle for her.

Still, you'd think that she might be even a teeny bit sympathetic to being the bastard in a timey-wimey relationship once she was the one who had moments pass for her while years (lots of years) passed for someone else. It's not like Rory and the Doctor were out getting beers and playing darts for forty years.

^ :). I'm just saying that artificial constructs such as Autons would probably have less of an issue with patience.
