René Auberjonois has died

Had no idea he was in ill health. So sorry to hear he is gone. I hope he didn't suffer.
William Shatner said some nice things about him on Twitter.
William Shatner said:
I have just heard about the death of my friend and fellow actor @reneauberjonois. To sum up his life in a tweet is nearly impossible. To Judith, Tessa & Remy I send you my love & strength. I will keep you in my thoughts and remember a wonderful friendship with René.

RIP Monsieur Rene Auberjonois.

I'll never forget the aura and artistry your brought to each performance and role.

I know how I'll choose to remember you.

Wow, I'd never seen that episode of Fraser. Rene was great. Thanks for posting.

Damn it!

:wah::wah::wah:

I'm a bit surprised they cited Benson over the MASH movie. I'd think the movie was more well known than Benson...

I just saw this on CBC. Besides DS9, I remember him from the 1980’s episodes of “The Jetsons”, 2000’s “Inspector Gadget” movie, 1995’s “Batman Forever” and “Boston Legal”, “The Princess Diaries” and “Star Trek VI”. Plus I have on either VHS or DVD-R an episode of an old show that aired on Vision TV here in Canada. I don’t recall the name of the program, but they would interview different guests for a half-hour and it was always the guest that was talking, there was no host or host voice, but the guest would talk about how they got to where they were at the time of taping, and what their spiritual life was like and how that impacted their life (Vision TV is a religious/family channel, so their programming comes from a religious/spiritual angle and the air family shows like “Little House On The Prairie” & “The Walton’s”, etc. I also remember the set had a bunch of candles all over it, so the camera would be constantly moving and there would be dissolves from one camera to the next, because the guest would be sitting on a chair having an intimate conversation about their life).

So very sad. I vaguely remember him in Benson but loved him in DS9 and Boston Legal and his two appearances on Archer were great.

I truly awful year for the Star Trek family. We've lost Aron, D.C., Rene, and Marina Sirtis just posted to Twitter that her husband has passed.

With Aron departing recently and now René, I'm really grateful they got the DS9 doc finished already. It's kind of nice to be able to see them "one last time" in something both recent, and DS9-centric.

In all these "I loved him in" mentions, I just wanna put Police Academy 5 out there. The movie is all kinds of crappy, but I'll be damned if René isn't hamming it up and having the time of his life. I almost wanna make a fan edit of just his scenes. I think I might go with that for a rewatch as it'll make me smile instead of cry. :)

Such awful news. Rest In Peace Rene, you gave us so much in all of your roles. Thank you.

Damn today really sucks. Not just Caroll Spinney and Marina Sirtis' husband (Michael Lamper), but also our beloved constable.

Odo was always one of my favorite characters, not just on Deep Space Nine, but all of Star Trek. He will be dearly missed. :(

I watched "The Begotten" in tribute and now I can't stop crying. :wah:

So sad to hear this. I met him in 2010 in Vegas, and he couldn't have been nicer. My prayers are with his family.
