Rate the Finales

I don't know if this has been done before (and I'm sorry if it has) but after seeing the Rate the pilots thread, I thought I would start a "Rate the Finales" thread. In some cases the finales may include the movies.

1) What You Leave Behind
2) Endgame
3) The Undiscovered Country (I consider this the true finale of TOS)
4) Gererations
5) These are the Voyages

"The Undiscovered Country"
"All Good Things..."
"Endgame"
"What You Leave Behind"
"These Are the Voyages..."

Well seeing as how TUC, an epic movie, has been shoehorned into being a tv show finale I will just make the finale of ENT be Demons/Terra Prime.

"Producer Manny Coto stated that he considered the "Demons" and "Terra Prime" to be the actual finale of the Enterprise storyline, rather than the final aired episode "These Are the Voyages...""

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terra_Prime

TUC
Demons/Terra Prime
Endgame
What You Leave Behind (the awful montage lowers this one)
All Good Things

hard to include TUC in the discussion imo

just the TV series:

All Good Things... - 10 (classic -- pure TNG and pure Trek)

What You Leave Behind - 9 (great finish to the DS9 story)

These Are The Voyages... - 6 (yes, I'm the one who liked it)

Endgame - 3 (so frustrating...)

I think you need to bring in TUC when talking about finales, because the TOS TV series didn't really have one. It had a last episode, but not a sendoff. All the other shows did.

For me:

What You Leave Behind (An epic conclusion to an amazing series)
The Undiscovered Country/All Good Things... (Both great sendoffs that in a way come full circle)
[indescribably large amount of space]
Endgame (There's only one way in which it impresses; in how much it disappoints)

And I haven't seen TATV, so it's not listed.

I don't think TUC counts as the series finale because... erm... it isn't. If you include that, then "Nemesis" will be the TNG finale.

I haven't seen "Endgame", so of the ones I've seen:

1) What You Leave Behind
2) All Good Things
3) Turnabout Intruder
4) These Are The Voyages

What was the Animated Series finale?

(1) The Undiscovered Country
(2) All Good Things....
(3) What You Leave Behind
(4) Endgame
(5) Nemesis

Never saw the Enterprise finale. Sounds like I was lucky

1. What You Leave Behind
2. All Good Things
3. Turnabout Intruder
4. Endgame
5. These Are the Voyages

Counting the movies as finales

1. What You Leave Behind
2. The Undiscovered Country
3. Nemesis
4. Endgame
5. These Are the Voyages

1) What You Leave Behind
Pretty good

2) Endgame
Pathetic

3) The Undiscovered Country (I consider this the true finale of TOS)
Good to Excellent

4) Gererations
The TOS sequences: excerrent. The TNG sequences: terrible. But "All Good Things" is really the series finale, and I rate that excerrent.

5) These are the Voyages
Abysmal. Pathetic. Sad. Insulting. Crippling. Dismal. Ridiculous... (reaches for thesaurus...)

1) All Good Things- Very enjoyable, but I still have this haunting feeling that the whole time travel/paradox/anomaly thing doesn't really make sense.

2) What You Leave Behind- A bit overly sentimental, but it wrapped things up nicely and definitively.

3) Turnabout Intruder- One of the better TOS episodes. Strong performances from the two leads

4) Endgame- Just in case you thought the Borg couldn't be debased anymore and there might possibly a problem that Voyager couldn't fix by just going back in time and changing it.

Haven't seen Enterprise's finale.

All Good Things is the only one I liked, so that's the one I rate. Not counting TOS since the last time I saw any of them I was about 7.

All Good Things
What You Leave Behind
The Undiscovered Country
Nemesis
These Are The Voyages
Turnabout Intruder
Endgame

ENT: Demons/Terra Prime
TNG: All Good Things
TOS: The Undiscovered Country
DS9: What You Leave Behind
VOY: Endgame

All Good Things...

Turnabout Intruder

What You Leave Behind

These are the Voyages

Agreed. I'm showing my girlfriend (lt. Rowy) all of Trek, starting with Entperise, and I'm not showing her TATV until after seeing Pegasus.

1. TNG - All Good Things - My favourite. Great story, effects.
2. VOY - Endgame - Not quite as good as the TNG one, but at least they didn't cheap out on it unlike...
3. DS9 - What You Leave Behind - Felt cheap to me. DS9 didn't really end well to me.
4. TOS - Turnabout Intruder - Sexist, stupid, crap.
5. ENT - These Are The Voyages - Enough has been said about this one.

1. TNG "All Good Things." Time travel. Picard. Solving the mystery. Q.
2. VOY "Endgame." Time travel. DISOBEYING STARFLEET RULES. That's why it's not number 1.
3. DS9 "What You Leave Behind." Completes the story. Ends unhappily with Sisko not returning.
4. TOS "Turnabout Intruder." As a standard episode, it was good. Finale, it was bland.
5. ENT "These are the Voyages." Please... it should have been Archer.

I like the idea of counting TUC. So there I go.

1. All Good Things -- it's funny how it didn't need to be action packed to keep me glued to the set. It felt more epic than Generations and the idea of a mystery spanning three times was perfect for Picard, up to then Trek's penultimate explorer

2. TUC -- If All Good Things encompassed the science and fantasy of Trek, TUC had the politics and social analogies that made Trek relevant in the first place.

3. What You Leave Behind ... -- it could have scored higher if the last hour didn't serve as an odd overly sentimental yet pseudo-philosophical piece of mumbo jumbo, and the clip segments didn't help (for the characters, ok. But for the battles? c'mon!)

4. Endgame -- On its own, a passable episode, even if things didn't make sense toward the end. However, what really hurts it is the lack of aftermath. Seven years' of viewer expectations and we didn't even get to see them beam down to Earth.

5. TATV. No. NO. NOOOO.

However, if we're counting Terra Nova, I'd put that sucka in the #3 spot, *maybe* #2. It dealt with emotion better than WYLB, and with more certainty than Endgame.
