I liked Mayfeld - he’s a great diamond-in-the-rough character, and one I’d hope to see more of, in SW media.

Who said anything about him being "too dark"?Why not? We have had tv shows build around darker people than him before. Mando was a bounty hunter. I guess Anakin in the Clone Wars you could also say since he grew up to be Vadar. Star Wars does have a Western feel that runs through much of it. Life is sometimes cheap in SW which is one of the themes that separates it from Trek.
Exactly. Whether I like the character or not he lacks enough depth to have him carry a show. That's not interesting or engaging enough when there is a huge cast of characters to draw upon in this time period.Who said anything about him being "too dark"?
He's just not an interesting enough character to build a show around.
Yes, Janina Gavankar was awesome in Battlefront II, and I would love to see her in live action, and it would be even better if they brought TJ Ramini and Paul Blackthorne as Meeko and Hask back too.Really now, if one must go mining existing characters rather that inventing all new ones, there are MUCH better options. Like say, Iden Versio to name but one.
Mayfeld was grating in his first episode, but he was excellent in his return. I definitely agree he's not lead character material, though. And I also agree with everyone suggesting Iden Versio to take Cara Dune's place in Rangers. Make it happen, Lucasfilm!
It's not worth the time.I don't know why they just can't just recast Dune.
I mean, it's not like Carano can melt dialogue or anything.
Don't ask me why, but for some reason when I saw Carano I originally read it as Carla Gugino, and now I really want to see her on one of the D+ Star Wars shows.I don't know why they just can't just recast Dune.
