When the radio station you're listening to says, "Playing today's hits, and yesterday's favorites", and you think to yourself, "That song isn't that old"; then it dawns on you that the song in question is close to forty years old. When the hell did that happen?
I can't watch the news right now. I've no affiliation and I'm aware the politics are incredibly complex but, FFS, so many innocent people on both "sides" suffering.
We're no better as a species, are we? There's been no real development. The whole fucking planet is just as medieval as 1023AD we're just more adept at pretending we're not.

One reason I do not want animals. I have a profound annoyance with their excretion habits and am happy to avoid it when possible.
If that kind of thing bothers you, then you've probably made the right choice. I have to admit, the first couple times stuff like that happened it grossed me out, but after a while you get used to it.

I'd much, much, rather do something like that than deal with people. For last few months I've been trying to find a job mucking out horse stalls but none of the stables I've tried appear to be hiring.
