Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Do you ever wonder what would happen if you had a "Back to the Future" moment were you went back in time and meet your parents. Would they treat you like a nerd or not like you. Not only that but I look alot like my dad. I mean very very much like him. It's kind of eerie in fact because I looked at wedding photos and it looks like me getting married to my mom. That means it's possible my mom might have the hots for me in the same way Elaine had for Marty. Well if I went back when I was younger. Kind of curious of the whole "Back to the Future" thing being a adult that goes back. That means a 43 year old me would meet a 43 year old version of my mom that is raising young me so I guess I would meet kid me as well.

Saw "The Lovely Bones." Real time trip of a movie... authentic tribute to the late 70's.

But I get so enraged at the premise of some fucking dude killing an innocent girl. I wish it wasn't Stanely Tucci. I like him as an actor... hate to now have this association to him.

I have temporal tourism day dreams all of the time, but I’d never want to meet my parents. It’d be weird too, now that I am in my forties, if they were the same age, I’d already be a teenager, though at that time, I could bung them some of the extra cash they needed back then.

If I met them at dating age, I’d have been met with deep suspicion and would stand out like a sore thumb in a Yorkshire mining village in the sixties. It wouldn’t play out well for me at.

I would be far more interested in exploring the area itself. Much has changed since the decline of heavy industry. It would be amazing to see how things were, and see why things are how they are now.

I want a time machine.

It'd be interesting see how they are willing to write back and forth, as they wouldn't know that they would be destined to have a deaf kid. Also, it would be fun seeing what that house where mom grew up, when there were nine people at one point living in that house. For most of my life, until five years ago, grandma lived alone so I always saw it as a quiet little house. Hard to imagine that house full of noisy kids running around.

But I mostly wonder about what if I went back thirty years, seeing my old friends, from a new perspective and with the knowledge of how most of them would end up... It might be somber seeing certain folks who had died since...

Wishing I had a decent camera. There’s one of those elliptical smooth clouds out there that looks like a flying saucer, and this one has a sister cloud above it, the same shape, but thinner.

Now that I’ve learnt how to use use real cameras, that don’ t come in a mobile phone, I too, would like a decent one.

I use my iPhone's camera to take videos, but not still pics. It's just not good enough for that sort of thing. The zoom stinks, the resolution is inferior, and it won't shoot in widescreen (not still photos, anyway. It takes videos in widescreen, but not pics. What's up with that? ). With a real digital camera, none of those problems apply.

I use my iPhone camera as well and I’m not satisfied with the photos either. It would be great if the iPhone camera would let you decide what should be in focus and sharp and what should be blurry. (I only know the term for that in a Swedish so I described it instead :) )

I take photos with my Samsung S9. To this novice, they're rather good.

I started swimming for the first time in years a few weeks ago (Because I'm switching from running only to triathlon) and now I think I may have an ear infection. I hate wearing earplugs but probably need to find some.
I use custom made silicone earplugs. As they fit the shape of the ear exactly, they are less uncomfortable to wear than ordinary ear plugs. Once they gotten warm I don't feel them at all. They are expensive, though. Over here, a pair costs slightly less than 100$.

It seems to be an universal law that whenever there is something really cool to take a picture of you are short of the necessary camera or it happens in a place where you can't stop and take a pic without risking your life (highways, crossings, raging rivers etc)

I don't know why people insist on making so many pictures of themselves in the places they visit. If it is a way of proving that they were there then surely one picture is enough and if one is not enough then why would a thousand be?

Not me, guv - I'm camera shy. My holiday pics are almost exclusively close ups of lovely flowers, interesting animals or details of architecture. And manhole covers from sewers! Many countries or towns have their own designs, often quite artistically ones. Also, old houses often have beautifully carved doors or wrought-iron windowbars =)

I am pretty sure that you can have all that from the internet. You'd be surprised by what people post.

I always take pictures during the family Christmas but I never take pictures of myself. Why would I? If I wanted to look at myself, I could just look in a mirror.

I do, however, have about 100 pictures of my cat.

Though the face you see in a mirror is reversed and it looks always straight at you. A picture could allow you to see yourself from different angles. Not that I do it myself, mind you, I hate pictures of myself.

I heard people subconsciously don't like pictures of themselves because they are backwards from the mirror image they are used to - and it feels wrong to them.

I think it's because we imagine ourselves more beautiful and charming than we are and we don't like that myth to be shattered by the ten-ton hammer of reality...
