Quite possibly the worse TNG...or Trek scene...ever...

Re: Quite possible the worse TNG...or Trek scene...ever...

It can't possibly be the worst scene ever: it's not from that awful episode where they discover warp travel damages space so they're going to pretend anyone cares.

Yeah, "Force Of Nature" was a terrible idea from the start.

Way to potentially handicap the entire Trek universe! :D

Re: Quite possible the worse TNG...or Trek scene...ever...

No. While treacly and preachy, the worst TNG moment ever was the ep, "Rascals," every minute of it. Esp. when the young transformed Picard shrilly says, in a voice reminiscent of Tiny Tim from "A Christmas Carol," "I'm still Jean-Luc Picard." Oy! -- RR

What was so bad about that?

Oh please tell me you're kidding.

I'm not lol.

It might be preachy but I think it doesn't hurt with some social commentary

Re: Quite possible the worse TNG...or Trek scene...ever...

Thinly veiled social commentary is good. Beating someone over the head with it is painful...like we couldn't pick up on it ourselves.

Re: Quite possible the worse TNG...or Trek scene...ever...

But if it's too thinly veiled, it's still painful and it sucks. (Like The Outcast)

Re: Quite possible the worse TNG...or Trek scene...ever...

There's a difference between good writing, acting, and then TPTB being pussies about a subject.

Not subtle.

Too subtle, because TPTB were afraid of someone.

This episode brought to you by the SEINFELD(TM)-brand white and black cookie. Bringing people together in racial harmony since 1991.

In retrospect, D.W. Griffith was a poor choice of director.

Re: Quite possible the worse TNG...or Trek scene...ever...

Riker's speech defending homosexuality in The Outcast has to be the worst TNG moment. Man, I hate that whole episode! Talk about preachy! And they're wrong about the issue to boot!

This scene makes me think Tasha took a lot of drugs at some point.

Tasha did seem to know what she was talking about, didn't she? Wesley on the other hand, "I guess I just don't understand." "Wesley, I hope you never do."

Terrible scene.

Yeah, but only because it was such obviously preachy. Hardly the "worse TNG or Trek scene ever". THAT honor goes to anything that has Luxana in it.

I have to disagree, it is a great story idea, though not original to that episode. But the episode didn't quite work, I think mostly because of the way the scientist characters came off.

No one's going to TELL a creepy bichromatic alien he has oily skin...
