Or some kind of self replicating landing strut?

I think the outter hull plating is part of the landing strut.

Looks like 8 regular decks and one big cargo deck

My math for the ships dimensions worked out, it even matched the Deck Count I was fortelling.

    =D

Looks like the warp nacelles may have catwalks like the NX-01 did over 200 years earlier.

Seems the protostar engine takes up most of the cargo deck.

If there's not scale problems on the display, the Protostar could have a ceiling height even lower than the Defiant...

From what I recall, Rick Sternbach stated that Voyager's landing legs were disproportionately small because they're more like anchors holding it in position relative to the ground, and it's actually "landing" on an antigravity field. It would have been nice if there'd been a line of dialogue explaining this is why the ship doesn't tip forward onto its nose or sink into the ground under its own weight though...

They keep it in the turbolift funhouse.

It does have a dedication plaque, just to starboard of the turbolift on the bridge. They do state on screen that the Enterprise is "NX class" too.

I like the Proto, I do think that the engines look a bit retro TBH but overall I think it's a good design :)

I just love how small this ship is. Small enough to see Dal and the others when they stand on the loading and unloading ramp and the surface of the hull but big enough that it doesn't feel like some glorified, overengineered runabout.

The original plan for TNG: "Eye of the Beholder" was that the nacelle control room was a corridor that ran the length of the nacelle, but the effects weren't up to it – it's referred to as a "nacelle tube" in the script for this reason. The smaller scale of the NX-01, plus the significant improvement in effects and sets, made it feasible by the time Enterprise came along.

Did the dialogue imply there is AGS in Protostar?

If you invent your own acronyms how do you expect people to understand what you're asking?
