*Potential Spoilers* What will the Alternate Enterprise-A look like

Looks like fan art IMO. Don't think the strutts were rounded like that in Beyond.
Looked straighter to me but wasn't a ton of screen time

It's not fan art. It's the 1701-A in Beyond right as it flies toward camera to reveal the "Star Trek Beyond" title at the end of the first credit sequence.

He's only a concept artist. He already released his concept art for it. He won't have renders of the final CGI asset. Only Double Negative has those.
I've listened to a couple of interviews he has done. He talked about releasing renders he has done, when he was designing. He makes 3D models of the ships, and then sends them out to the companies, that will texture and occasionally add detailing. The USS Franklin didn't really need much detail added supposedly.

The models he makes for concept design work don't hold up to visual effects shots, and have to be mostly, if not completely rebuilt, while still using his 3d models as a base. The Enterprise-A in particular was heavily modified and detailed after his design was turned in. At the moment, the only people who have the final Enterprise-A CG model are Double Negative, and maybe Bad Robot and Paramount.

I know they have the final fully realised models, but Sean's model renders are a step closer after the concept art.

Sean does his concepting in 3D. Sean's model renders ARE the concept art.
That's what I figured. I quite like how he makes his renders look like art by adding texture and backgrounds. It's much more pleasing than many of the cold, grey, texture-less concept art I've seen in other productions. I hope he knows that many of us appreciated him sharing is work. We can be a grumpy bunch. :)

Sigh........it looks like we will have to wait for the Blu-Ray to get more stuff.

Maybe one of our peeps here can do a digital rendering of the "A" based on everything we know......

Edit: This isn't mine, I just came across it with a google search

Nice to see how much positivity (odd nitpicks aside) this ship is getting both here and around the web in general, a nice break from the usual nuEnterprise bashing from the previous ship.

I really like how he mixed in a little more Jefferies with simplification of some of the lines and shapes, the angle of the saucer edge etc. I agree completely with his statement that on the TMP Refit the nacelles look "dead", I love the original Refit and the nacelles are gorgeous but there has always been something about the original 1701 nacelles which I preferred.

For me the nacelles are pesky "nit pick" #1 and its a silly little thing but I wish he had pushed for making them red. #2 which is the only other thing that looks off to me is also rather petty and its the registration number, after 7(ish) years of seeing the JJ 1701 with that bare ventral saucer which every movie I hoped they would have stuck the TOS style registry on the bottom (the NX-01 had it and the SDCC Discovery renders also have it) so I was kinda hoping we would have seen that (hoping they keep that detail on next years hero ship).

Two very daft and superficial wishes which don't really matter what so ever and are just personal preference; Sean if you happen to be reading this then as I have said elsewhere I really like the new ship (as well as the Franklin and Yorktown) and looking forward to you coming back to help flesh this new ship out!
