A pulse and good haircut is enough for most women.

You even wonder how all the blokes on Voyager managed to maintain season one TOS haircuts when Shatner looked like a shaggy Trucker half way through season 2 TOS as his little pointed side burns blurred into Elvis mutton chops?

^^Women who make a living on street corners maybe.

Holographic barber?

Do I get my "No Prize" now?

Certainly.

I'll stick one in the mail tomorrow.

What is your postal address?

;)

Surely you have a female friend, who you have every only wanted as a friend, or possibly a relative, and guy after guy you are amazed at how badly she calls it, like she's some sort of serial relationship masochist running at a levelled petard beating heart first?

Alternately you have a male friend who is scum, well, just not that good a boyfriend no matter how many opportunities he has to try and do it the correct way for once. You know that guy. A good starter with crap follow through. So much broken cutlery.

I swear during my school dayze the fools that tried to couple, it was just shrapnel and lost limbs everywhere, and tears, and then cake. the cake was nice, but why not just start with the cake and forget about dating jerkwads? O. Guys don't make passes at girls with large arses.

I love Dorothy Parker.

How much of the crew did hary run through before the talk in the women's shower block declared him a no-go area, that he had to settle for aliens with the cosmic clap, holographic cows and corpses?

This would have happened to Chuckles too. Every likely pairing by that point would have been tried and been exhausted by the time that Seven joined the crew, that the new fish, no matter how scary she might have seemed, seemed, was the only woman on the crew that hadn't said "NO" to the half of the crew that thought they were pretty.

She would have been rushed by morons.

Morons, in phalanxes declaring their love.

Talking like Borg even.

This hardly makes a girl feel special.

Just because she's the shiny new toy no one has played with, of course she'd feel inclined to put her self on the top shelf out of reach until some one responsible came along that wouldn't hastily break what she had going on.

But Chakotay, a calm fisherman, saw that the new fish was gorged, so waited till she was hungry for opportunity again before he cast his line into the water.

3 years into the friend zone.

Takes some weaselling to dig your way out of that.

I guess Dorothy's never dated a brotha' or Latino male.;)

Dated or (*&^ed?

She was quite forward for even this age. I used a common bastardization of what was actually said, "guys don't make passes at girls who wear glasses", but even then, I beleive it's something her mother said to her to put the lady down in some typical generational mirror mirror power struggle.

I wonder if that includes Borg Ocular Implants?

What's the Indian stereotypical predilection for asses?

Big or small?

Was Seven's bum too big, too small, or juuuuuuuuuuuuuuust right?

It would be funny if, after the fanboy ranting about the the perfection of how she just ideally stands there, that her body type wasn't his first choice, as it went against the grain of what he was hard wired to stalk down and bare... Although personally for him, that Indian, we have seen all the other woman he's had an interest in and they're all disturbingly Holiwoodyactressishlike.

Just when you think a thread has no where to go Guy Gardner shows up. Thanks for the fun! Guy, you make work fun!

A Chakotay-Seven pairing would be hot and steamy. Anything with Janeway would just be old people sex. I can see the episode now, alone in Sevens' darken quarters, Chakotay embraces the voluptuous Seven of Nine, and utters his most sensuous line of the entire voyager series, "hey babe - assimilate this."

And just what is wrong with "old people sex." Hon the term is use it or lose it and older people have been using it longer and are probably in general much better at it considering the all the experience.

"Hot and Steamy" has nothing to do with age. The feelings don't stop just because the numbers go up on your driver's license. At the age of 62 I am all in favor of "old people sex."

In fact Chakotay/Janeway does smack of "old people sex," and that is one of the things I love about the paring.

I'm 28 (and was obviously a hell of a lot younger when VOY was on originally) and I think J/C would have been hot. Never occurred to me that it wold be "old people sex." Not all sex appeal is about youth and looks. But we're already having that debate in the General Trek Forum.

I was 18 and fanatical when Voyager started, and as old as Chakotay may have seemed just beginning their 40s, well, I'd just spent 7 years screaming at a 60 something year old man to mount a 50 something old redhead and fill her with his French babies, that that wasn't much ado about nothing.

I mean seriously, there was a a LOT of 40 something year old sex happening from one side of DS9 to the other, from flings to romances to long hauling marriages... Rosalin Cho and Colm Meany were 42 and 46 respectively and no one had any issues with their characters still pumping out babies like tap water.

Also, I believe that Beltran is older than Mulgrew (or at least close in age) so even C/7 would involve "old people sex".

The age thing never bothered me in any of the cases mentioned, not even the Picard-Crusher thing.

I don't find neither Janeway nor Chakotay particularily old either.

Sometimes I do think people are too age-obsessed. I remember a guy who I worked together with. He was 30 and was playing ice-hockey for an amateur team and there were people whining about him being too old for the game. Oh crap, he was the best player in that team! When he did quit, at age 36, the team lost a great player.

As for the Chakotay-Seven thing, the age difference is no problem for me. It's more the total lack of chemistry and that it came out of nowhere in the last episode as if those in charge wanted to show the finger to the J/C-ers.

None of the above? Where was that option? :)

Odds are that either option was none of the above given how doomed these three people were in any coupling combination, especially when all their resigned post traumatic stress begins to decompress and ooze.

Honestly, they'd all become completely different people with out the DQ to crank up the torque.

^ Good Point.

But I choose Janeway for Chakotay. They were more similar in occupation (ship Captains, I mean) and had more similar interests/life experiences. Seems like much more potential for them living together into their old age.

I mean, come on, can anyone really see a 90 year old Chakotay convincing Seven to join him on the shuffleboard court at the old people's home?

And I agree with what others have said: EMH/7 makes much more sense. Those two were just about the same "emotional age".

They also had a unique sort of chemistry, which C/7 utterly lacked.
Hey, some people just date for the sex or desire company just because they're lonely. Remember Chakotay in "Timeless"? Harry said he was only dating that woman for the sex.
Besides it was only like what 4 or 5 dates they said.
Some folks date and don't have instant chemistry.
