If they go that route, they may end up with this:

They won't though, since whichever director they use will surely be a better fit than Tim Burton.

Also, that movie was a HUGE step forward for Hollywood sci-fi makeup.

I assumed this series was over and done with after the last one.
Well, since this is going to the start of a new storyline, that series kind of is over.
I think we've already had enough "humans suck" stories. Avatar, for example.
Well, humans do really fucking suck big time, so I'm all for more. Maybe if it enough people get shown their suckage, they'll finally take a good look at their behavior and make some changes.

When are they going to send the monkeys to space. I want to see the far future where the monkeys have evolved so much they have developed advanced tech.

In the book, way back in 1963, the Apes had tech similar to Earth in the 1960s including jet planes. In the book, the planet of the Apes was not Earth.

It would interesting to remake the original but from the POV of the apes.

Hmm... Maybe from the apes point of view as they encounter Landon and/or Dodge?

There's a six issue miniseries from BOOM! Studios called "Ursus" that retells the events of POTA and 'Beneath' from the perspective of General Ursus and Landon and Dodge make an appearance. You can read it on the Hoopla app.

I wonder if that was what Tim Burton had in mind when we saw the modern ape world at the end of the movie. Something he might have explored in a sequel.

I have spent 20 years thinking one thing, and now I may have changed my mind.

I thought Thade followed Marky Mark back in time, overshot, replaced Lincoln, and this was his memorial after he killed all humans.

Which is still possible. But Thade would have to go into the Jungle and have sex with a million lady gorillas, if he wanted to raise an army that would put down humanity, if we stipulate that only genetically manipulated apes and their offspring can talk.

But now I'm wondering if when Marky Mark tried to go back in time, he screwed the pooch, and went another thousand years into the future, where the Apes had caught up almost.
