Yeah, I've never been to this many in one season. I've just been lucky I guess. I got cheap tickets to the first game of the year as it was pre-season and thus very cheap. I also always find great prices at StubHub. The Star Trek Movie Night game doubled as a birthday present for my dad, and my lovely lady bought the tickets this last time.

I dream of a day when I'm a season ticket holder...

Flux, good pictures. Although I must say I've been rooting against the Giants! Sorry, but I love my Rockies.

RW, that is an awesome picture with the sculpture. What were you eating in the first picture?

A mega-tosti...
Twice as big as a regular one...

There's not really an equivalent in English for "tosti". In French, there is, though: "croque-monsieur". "Tosti" apparently originates from the Italian "tosto" (from which "tosti" is the plural form), which is short for "tostato", which is the past particple of "tostare": to toast.

A "tosti" is two slices of bread, by default with cheese and ham in between, toasted all together. The ingredients may vary, but cheese (of any kind) seems to be mandatory. If you order a tosti without further specification, you will receive a ham and cheese tosti, mostly served with a small bowl of ketchup.

Ah, interesting sounds very similar to a "grilled cheese" as we call them here. Normally in the US we prepare them by grilling, but I definitely prefer them to be toasted. In general they are just cheese, but the way I make them I generally have ham or some other meat as well (I find sliced turkey works well too).

Went to yet another Giants game with my girlfriend last week. She surprised me with the tickets a few days before, and kept the location of our seats a secret. I was really surprised when I found out our tickets were 5 rows from the field!

Could I love her more?

(and yes, we are wearing matching jerseys) :)

I'll have to get the pictures, but those are right where we sat for Father's Day. :techman:

What exactly is going on in this picture?

Also I love your shirt!

It's an artwork on "Het Vrijthof" near the Basilica of Saint Servatius...

The Saint John to the left and the Saint Servatius to the right:

Saint Servatius is the only Saint buried in The Netherlands that has a church build on top of his grave apparently...

Vodka isn't disgusting. Jagermeister is.

Vodka can be pretty disgusting when it has a taste -vodka is supposed to be nothing but alcohol diluted in water, neither of which has any taste!

Jägermeister, on the other hand, is clearly a bitter made for little old women: I mean; it's sweet!

Quaint little Netherlands. =)

Tosti is such a Dutch word. Join the club and call them croque-monsieur! (or "een krokske") You can even vary the suffix to get variations: croque-madame, croque-Hawaii, ... :)

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! That was really sweet!! What she did for you and what you said about her...really nice! :techman:

Well, i don't like tequila. I got sick on the stuff...
I don't like Whiskey for the same reason. I go by the theory that your first really bad hangover will be a liquor you won't like the rest of your life.

The theory is sound, but for me, it was my first TWO really bad hangovers (vodka and Jack Daniels respectively). I can tolerate them nowadays, in mixed drinks, but I still don't particularly like them. For a long time I had a total aversion to them.

BTW, Martinis should have gin in them. :p ;)

But after a couple of decades (when you're in your (mid)thirties) the aversion should have receded to the point that you might actually begin to enjoy that particular drink.
Mine were Pernod and vermouth -but not together, yikes.

Of course. All this talk about Dry Martinis made me thirsty for one -Mmmmm, Old Raj with Noilly Prat (shaken of course).
