German engineering... pffft. Ask me how many times the actuator for the electric window on the driver's side door has gone out and needed replacement on my Jetta.
I'll say it like Jeremy Clarkson said about the Audi R8 "It's like going to vacation to Germany: everything's very clean and very efficient...but you wouldn't want to live there."
There is nothing better than German engineering. I really dont see what all the fuss with america cars is about. Id take an audi over an american car any day. And i've got two mustangs and a charger in the garage. So you cant call me a "fanboi"...
German cars are great, BMW makes some of the best engines in the world...but they don't have near as much soul as American cars do.
If someone offered me a fully loaded Audi S5 versus a fully loaded Chevrolet Camaro SS, I'd take the latter every day of the week. And I still think the Audi 5-series is supremely beautiful car. But there is nothing, nothing, like the sound of an American V8.

There's the Iguana and me. That's plenty of Italian talk going on at all times on this board. I don't think it all depends on your photos.
That's a pretty damn stupid stereotype.
But then again what else would you expect from Jeremy Clarkson? Top Gear is fun but the blatant use of old national stereotypes is tedious at best.
Depicting Germany as "very clean and efficient but no fun to live in" is as wrong as it gets. And this is coming from an Italian living in Germany. Germany is good fun, very crazy (in a good way) and relaxed.

You shouldn't feel that you can't post photos any more. Go ahead. I think people were just feeling a little overwhelmed and that their photos were being drowned out by the sheer amount of pics (and commentary on them) being posted one after another, day after day. Perhaps post a few, take a couple day off from posting pics to talk to people around the board, then post some more.
And let's not forget Niorah. However, I tend to agree: Italians might have been quite rare around here, but we have been making a striking impression since a pretty long time.There's the Iguana and me. This. I like the show, but according to them the only country making any worthwhile contribution to the car industry is, surprise surprise, Britain.
Oh trust me, the Japanese can out-engineer the Germans any day of the week.

And as far as I'm concerned, Rover ceased to exist in '88. But I think the P6 series is the most reliable car I've ever driven.

I'm sorry that I came across a bit unclear. I agree with him to the point of the cars. I have no idea of the country since I haven't visited it.
Oh, absolutely, they are quite open with that. And about the only thing out of Britain worthwhile is Lotus and Aston in my opinion. but the fun bit about the show is they so openly love cars, period. Even Clarkson fell in love with the Corvette ZR1 for a while there, and usually Hammond is the huge Americophile in the trio.

I'm on the Glendale/Burbank border near the 5. Prime real estate to enjoy everything both cities have to offer. Brand and Central are definitely regular avenues for me both travel-wise and socially. Before our Borders closed earlier this year, I had four bookstores within walking distance of me. EPIC WIN, SAYS I.

Excellent. I have relatives in Burbank too. I used to work at the Burbank YMCA during the summer. I also got kicked out of that Holiday Inn one New Year's Eve....
Anyway, since we're singing the praises of German engineering....
