Thought I'd add a couple photos from the cruise we just returned from. Took my parents and The Hubby's mom and bro-in-law.

And here's us ... the "globetrotters" :rommie:

Golbe2-crop-sm.jpg

More to come once I've sorted through all the snapshots ... whether you like it or not. :p

One of my many photoshops. Would look better if I had used a better quality camera. I used a 30 dollar webcam to take the picture of myself.

I love it.

However ... "It's a faaaaaaaaaaaaaake!" ;)

No "Hi there ;)" today?! I'm shocked!!

Yeah ..., wow. Is Shameless losing his mojo?

I like the pic, Guitarded. Nicely done.

And Kestra, thanks. We never get the pic's from the ship anymore, but my folks wanted one so we gave in. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised how well it turned out.

Oh yeah and lest this go unsaid for too much longer ..., Guitarded ..., how YOU doin'? :mallory:

Don't worry, you'll understand shortly. ;)

does she have any skin allergies, I hear that labs suffer from those.

I've got a couple of Labs myself. No skin allergies, but a lot of that in dogs can be from the food you feed them.

One of my dogs has more of the seasonal allergy thing going. Goopy eyes and itchy ears certain times of the year.

Where'd you folks go this time? And why are you always in a tux...do you wear one when walking the pooches?

Yeah ..., wow. Is Shameless losing his mojo?

No, just caught him in his "How you doin'?" refractory period.

Holdfast, one question. Was that building originally a school or something like that? Or are apartment buildings really built so beautifully there?

TM: i've said it before and i'll say it again. When i die i want to come back as YOU! Great pics. You look so happy. I could just squish you!

Both of them?

That's just being greedy!

I know huh? Not very Christmas-y. ;)

Oh please, neither of them are even Christian! Stop pushing your holidays on the rest of us. :p

And you are all over every guy in this thread. You can afford to leave two out of it!
Are they off limits to girls too? Because the boy with the shaved head...well, I wouldn't throw him out of bed for eating crackers!

Yup, as Smoothie knows, I have 2 labs as well. No "skin allergies", per se, but mine do have food allergies. And, before we got that resolved there were definite skin-related symptoms. No worries now, though: now that they've become vegans. What?

Yes. Yes, in fact, I do. Doesn't everyone? :p

Actually, I guess I just tend to post pictures from "formal nights" on the ships (there are usually 2 per cruise.) You don't have to dress formally for them, but we enjoy it (plus, there's a company that partners with cruiselines and it's cheaper to rent tuxes from the ship than pay a baggage over weight charge if you have to pack clothes for those 2 extra nights.) ;)

This time we were on the beautiful Crown Princess doing the Western Caribbean itinerary: Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Roatan (Honduras) and the cruiseline's island resort in the Bahamas, with 2 wonderful sea days to do nothing but relax and be pampered. We took my parents (their first time) and The Hubby's mom and BIL. Had a very nice time, though my parents were a little overwhelmed at first. By the end, though, they were old hands at the whole thing.

No more now for a few months ..., until the Panama Canal in April/May.

That was perfect!

Thanks Randi, we really did have a good time. And, even better, my folks really enjoyed themselves. It took us years to convince them to come with us (mom say's they're just "not that 'fancy'"). ;) But, they learned it's not all that fancy (unless you want it to be.)

TrekkieMonster: good to see poeple dressing properly for dinner. ;) :techman:

It's a converted property, yes.

Many new builds will try to copy these and other older styles, but unless they invest large amounts of money and have a good architect, they generally don't quite achieve all of the look. Some come close though. I also own property I rent out that is a new build done in an older style, which is executed pretty well, but still not perfectly. It costs a fortune to use solid stone, for instance, so short-cuts are taken, like using thinner stone facings. Not obvious from far away, but it's noticeable up close and they don't weather in quite the same way. And new building regulations also limit certain types of construction for enviromental or other reasons.

That's why I wanted something genuinely period for myself.

Which boat is that? looks a lot like the background to a recent cruise photo I took, so just curious. Probably just the same class of ship, but always a chance I could have bumped into you...

You forget...I'm straight. I'm lucky to have a shirt with no food on it and socks that match.

No cruises lined up yet, but working on a mostly inclusive Iceland roadtrip in the spring. You arrange airfare there, and the trip comes with a car, a driving itinerary, lodging at the end of your drive each night, some meals, and a cell phone in the event of emergency.

We're psyched, it looks like the illegal lovechild of Alaska and Yellowstone.

The Crown Princess. We're Princess loyalists, and especially like these so called "Super Grand Class" ships (her newer twin - or "triplet" - sister, the Ruby, is our absolute favorite.) This particular stairway is very similar on many of the Princess Grand Class ships and, I am told, some P & O ships, as well.

LOL! And I love that, because I'm talking to a fellow Trekkie, I know you will understand when I talk about ship classes. I picked up on the whole ship class distinction thing very quickly when we started cruising, much to The Hubby's confusion.

Which were you on?

Yes. Yes, in fact, I do. Doesn't everyone? :p

:guffaw: That was very good! I hear Iceland is beautiful (though don't get Ricky Gervais started on it.) ;)

And I don't forget that you're straight, in particular; I just forget that most straight guys possess about the same level of interest in their attire as you describe.

The "How you doin'?" needs time to recharge sometimes.

Also, i was distracted by his awesome username.

Ah, so Smoothie was right. I'm a little scared that he nailed that, though.

No worries, I'm always happy to pinch hit with a "how YOU doin'" while you're "recovering".

A mountain of [nearly] sugar free chocolate chip cookies. I didn't mean to make this many, but I forgot to modify my serving size and before I realized it I was mixing everything together full steam ahead and so I made the full batch. There are 48 large cookies here, and I may eat, oh, one or two a week. Ah well, now we know what the friends are getting for Christmas. :D
