My son Ian actually posing for a picture. Usually I have to run after him and every shot is him running or moving.
Quite the lovely young lady.Put a little pink in my hair tonight. Bright at the roots... less so at the ends. Oh well. My first time.

I just had a birthday, and I baked my own (boring) cake.
I'm super jealous of this one, even if it is for a 3 year old. If I could afford to I'd be baking crazy cakes like that all the time.

This cake is totally awesome. My son Ian loves Batman, Spiderman and Superman and I think we may consider a cake very similar to this for his upcoming 4th birthday. (not real soon, his birthday is in December.)

I'm going to add a purple chunk right next to the pink one eventually. I thought about doing the ends, but this just seemed easier somehow. I can move my part and hide it completely if I need to.In the first pic, it looks a bit brighter at the roots than I meant it to. I was going for a duller cotton candy pink like in my avatar. Oops.
I've never had it done professionally and never done it myself before now. So I will know better next time.

Yeah, I hear you about being able to hide it. When I put some red in my hair, I didn't have it done at the top so that I could put my hair up and hide it if I wanted to.
I wouldn't worry about it being too bright since you can wash a lot of the color out. It will dull pretty quickly if you wash your hair a few times.
I've always wanted to do purple, but it just wouldn't show up in my hair unless I bleached it first, which I never want to do. Plus I feel too old and boring for that sort of thing now.

That's funny, because I just turned 28 and I only now had the confidence to actually do it. I've wanted to try a funky colour for years. I don't think you're ever too old, really. My boyfriend absolutely loves it, too.
Also, I did have to bleach it first. I would get pretty much zero colour if I hadn't. That's one of the reasons I waited so long. Kind of risky. But I'm happy I finally decided to try it. lol

Oh for sure, I mean I think anyone can do it at any age. I just don't think it fits me anymore? I only tried it once, a year or two ago. And it was easy for me to just dye my hair all black again once I was over it. I had mine done professionally and I don't know what they used, but they didn't have to bleach it first which surprised me.
You can't see it that well in this pic (which I've posted here before), but it was actually a brighter red.
It's a lovely colour! Though I love black, too. I've always wanted naturally black hair.
Oh yeah, with boxed colours like that I never had to bleach. I did mine a pretty decently-bright red a couple years back. I liked it, but felt black looked better on me so I went back to black.
