It seems utterly reasonable that they would have a different operating system.
Only because we didn't see it morph and do more than just one animated element and a few blinking lights. It's supposed to be completely reconfigurable, so it's not outdated at all. When you get down to it, LCARS is ridiculously outdated compared to operating systems of today.

What I dreamt last night certainly didn't.
Assuming she's the same age as the actress (20), she'd probably be too young. The kids seems to be in the 12-15 age range, and with this being 15 years prior to Picard the series, Dahj would only be 5 or so.
I do wonder if we'll be seeing either of the two girls this Short Trek is focusing on as grown adults in the series though.
Can't be, no bumps on the face of the Vulcan (Romulan?) character you are indicating.I think the alien girl from the 'Children of Mars' grows up to be the young Starfleet officer in this 'Picard' trailer seen around 0:21:
I thought for a moment that the Human girl could be Dr. Jurati, but she isn't blonde.
But Agnes doesn't have any dark roots.Have you heard of hair dye?
Finally! This is clearly a sequel to Who Mourns for Adonais? where we will learn that both girls have been scioned by the ancient Roman War God himself.
It's a dream sequence. Possibly same one as Data painting. So he's in uniform in TNG era, talking to Data, next shot is him in Ten-Forward drinking tea, next shot Mars exploding in background. As far as dreams go, it's not too far fetched. Not in reality, but this is a TV show and I doubt they're going to want to confuse people by mixing up eras like that.
Though in the tea shot, Picard is wearing a civilian outfit, and Data appears to be wearing the First Contact+ TNG uniform. It's a dream sequence. Possibly same one as Data painting. Does it have to make sense?Though in the tea shot, Picard is wearing a civilian outfit, and Data appears to be wearing the First Contact+ TNG uniform.
I believe that is a 24th century ice cube makerYeah, that’s what people have been saying.
Also in the very first trailer with Riker, in the shot of him from behind in his kitchen, I’m almost certain you can see what looks like a TNG era replicator to his right, with a coloured screen above it. It’s too out of focus to make out if it’s LCARS, but it seems to be the right colour scheme for a TNG era computer screen.
