That’s exactly what happened. Matalas even mentioned this. He also mentioned that he probably should have made the ship the Enterprise-E rather than the F. I agree with him.

Ah, ok. Because I’m sure they thought his dumb Ent-E joke was oh-so much better than actually showing the E instead of the F. Just my opinion.

Gotcha. I can see fans of that video game complaining that they showed the F only to watch it get destroyed. That would probably annoy me too. It certainly annoyed me to see people like Hugh, Ro and Shelby again just to see them get killed off.
I never understood this complaint. Ships get blown up to show the story is serious.
