Picard film in development

Back in the season premiere, when Raffi was looking over upcoming events that could be a potential target for a terrorist attack, the Enterprise F's decommissioning ceremony was listed among them. It was going to be decommissioned even without the Frontier Day fiasco.
I think they just wanted to acknowledge the Star Trek Online fan design then move past it as quickly as possible to do their own thing.

Yes, that’s what I was referring to. Its systems were compromised while rescuing refugees on Felton IV in the Monfette Gambit

I’m not sure if the refugee rescue is at all related to the Romulan supernova crisis though.

Ah, ok. Because I’m sure they thought his dumb Ent-E joke was oh-so much better than actually showing the E instead of the F. Just my opinion.
I mean iirc the tweet was literally in response to people complaining they did the -F dirty.

That’s exactly what happened. Matalas even mentioned this. He also mentioned that he probably should have made the ship the Enterprise-E rather than the F. I agree with him.

I don’t remember him mentioning the -E

Perhaps I’m misremembering. He wanted to include the F for the fans of STO, but also mentioned that it was probably a mistake.

No, you're correct Dukhat.

This is what Terry tweeted almost a year ago…

Terry Matalas said:
We just wanted to honor STO fans. We could’ve easily not included it. Maybe that would’ve been the better call and just used the E. But you can’t please everyone. I’m sure she will live on in other ways/stories.

I didn't think of that but Q does make sense. Also since Picard is a Android you could have him wake up in the far future and encounter a bunch of new characters. Basically a story about young people finding a living legend and wanting him to help inspire a society that is falling apart by remembering a time when humans did these noble things like bring peace through the Federation. Q shows as well because he knows Picard needs a friend. Everyone he loved is gone. The Federation is gone. Make it 200 hundred years after Discovery's future setting or just say Discovery went to a alternate timeline future.

Robo-Picard will only live roughly the same as Flesh-Picard would have.

"We designed a cellular homeostasis algorithm that should give you more or less the same number of years you would have expected without the brain condition." -- Whichever Soong that Spiner played in season one.

"We deactivated the cellular homeostasis algorithm" - Random scientist at the start of the movie.

Yep. One line can change all of that. Much like how Data could have just used a aging program if they wanted to explain why he is starting to look older as Spiner got older.

Data and Soji, as well as the Doctor and the Coppelius androids should still be alive during that time as well.
